🚨 The NDIS legislation could fundamentally change how people access the NDIS and the supports they receive.
So before Parliament gives Government significant new powers, there are some basic questions that must be answered.
1️⃣ What happens if a scheme-wide funding restriction leaves someone without enough support to stay safe?
2️⃣ Can a participant seek an exemption or have the support they need restored?
3️⃣ Will important decisions affecting someone's safety and supports involve meaningful human decision-making?
4️⃣ Will participants receive reasons and have meaningful review and appeal rights?
5️⃣ What happens when someone loses NDIS support but the alternative services they are expected to use aren't available?
These aren't technical details.
They could determine whether someone can remain in their own home, receive the support they need, stay safe and continue participating in their community.
The Senate has not voted yet.
This is the time to speak up.
Ask decision-makers these questions. Tell them what you want them to protect. Tell them what the NDIS means to you, your family or your community.
