Happy Halloween 🎃

Three things worth knowing this weekend:
🍫 Chocolate and lollies - chocolate can be toxic to dogs and cats, so keep the stash safely out of reach.
👻 Costumes - not every pet enjoys dressing up. If they're pulling away, freezing or showing signs of discomfort, don't force it.
🔔 Extra visitors - more knocking, doorbells and unfamiliar faces can be stressful. Give your pet access to a quiet, secure space away from the front door.

Enjoy the night- and keep the treats human-only 🐾

Stress in pets isn't always obvious.

Yawning when they're not tired, lip licking, turning their head away from people or other dogs, or that full-body shake when they're not even wet can all form part of a pet's response to a stressful situation.

Learning your pet's individual body language can help you recognise when they may be uncomfortable or overwhelmed and respond to their needs earlier.

Notice the small signals. Your pet may be communicating more than you realise.

Follow for practical pet health education to help you better understand your pet's health and wellbeing.

Spring is beautiful… unless you’re an itchy dog. 🌼🐶

As the weather warms up and exposure to pollen and other environmental allergens changes, some dogs can start showing signs of seasonal allergies.

And it’s not always obvious.

Repeated paw licking, scratching, rubbing the face or ears, red or irritated skin and recurring ear problems can all be worth paying attention to.

The good news? You don’t have to simply wait for spring to pass.

If your dog seems itchier or more uncomfortable than usual, speak to your vet.

They can help identify what may be triggering the problem and discuss options including C*D to help manage their symptoms and keep them comfortable.

🐾 Save this as a reminder - or share it with another dog owner heading into allergy season.

Spring does something to pets that most owners miss 🌸

As the season changes, so can your pet's comfort. These signs are easy to brush off- but if they're sticking around, they're worth mentioning at your next vet visit.

There are often several ways to manage a pet’s health condition, which is why asking questions during your veterinary appointment is so important.

Understanding the potential benefits, risks, available evidence, and whether a treatment is appropriate for your individual pet can help you make informed decisions alongside your vet.

Every pet is unique, and the best treatment plan is one that’s tailored to their specific needs and circumstances.

Save this post so you have these questions ready for your next appointment.

🐾 You spend more time with your pet than anyone else, which means you’re often the first to notice when something feels different.

Subtle changes in mood, mobility, appetite or behaviour can sometimes be the earliest signs that your pet needs a veterinary check-up.

While these changes don’t always indicate a serious problem, they are worth paying attention to.

Trust your instincts. If something doesn’t seem quite right, having a conversation with your veterinarian is always a good place to start.

Save this post as a reminder that noticing the little changes can make a big difference.
