My journey as a First Aid Trainer began in 2007, during a busy day at the gym where I worked. A woman approached me, distressed due to her friend being unwell. Upon approaching her, she was showing clear signs of a heart attack: her cheeks were grey, lips blue, and she had severe heavy chest pain with pain radiating down her arm.

While we waited for the ambulance, my team and I stayed beside her. She was lying down drifting in and out of consciousness when she held my hand and said, “Don’t let me die.” She had suffered a massive heart attack, followed by three more cardiac events on the way to hospital.

Later that day, her mother called to thank us for our quick response. That experience stayed with me and helped shape the direction of my career. By 2008, I'd trained as a First Responder and partnered with Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909). I've continued to build my knowledge, practical skills and teaching approach through ongoing study and experience in healthcare and first aid education.

I'm currently studying a Bachelor in Clinical Exercise Physiology, which has deepened my understanding of the body systems including the pathophysiology, cardiology and diseases affecting the heart. This knowledge strengthens my work as a trainer, helping teach the what's and why's of the body during an emergency and why a prompt, confident response matters. I bring together real-world experience, ongoing study and a passion for helping people feel prepared to act when it counts.

If you or your team require any of the following courses, I'd be happy to come to your workplace. I'm now taking bookings for 2027.

Always monitor the casualty for hypothermia when running cold water over burn. Use a thermal blanket around their body. First Aid is treating the entire person, not just the injured site.
