Step Series: The Step Down πͺ
We've covered the forward step up and the side step up. Today we're adding the step down, coming down backwards from the top of the step.
Why it matters: going down is where many of us lose confidence. A controlled step down builds strength in the thigh and hip muscles that help you manage stairs, kerbs and uneven ground safely.
Quick tips:
β
Hold onto something stable if you need to
β
Lower slowly and with control
β
Keep your hips level and your knee tracking over your toes
β
Stand tall, no leaning forward
Start with a lower step and build up as you feel stronger.
