💙 Big moves, big milestones! 💙

What a special session to finish up our therapy journey before this little superstar heads up north! 🌴☀️

We’ve loved watching Sophia’s confidence grow as she has learnt to use her communication device to share her wants, needs, choices and personality with her family, friends and therapists.

We’re so proud of how far she has come and can’t wait to see what’s next!

A huge, heartfelt thank you to Variety - the Children's Charity of Queensland and all the supporters! Your generosity has been truly life-changing for Haiden and his whole family, giving him the freedom to ride alongside the people he loves. We couldn't be more grateful. ❤️

At 14, Haiden dreamed of something many of us might take for granted – heading out for an afternoon’s bike ride alongside his family and friends.

Living with complex needs, Haiden faced barriers to participating in physical activity and keeping up with his peers. After funding for an adaptive trike was declined through the NDIS, his family worried that dream might remain out of reach.

Then came a surprise. Haiden’s physiotherapist from Leaps and Bounds Disability Services submitted a Variety Queensland grant application on his behalf, and he was awarded a specialised Ezi-Step 2+2 Folding Electric Bike, valued at $5,970.

Now, Haiden can enjoy safe, age-appropriate physical activity, join his family on outings, spend more time in the community and ride alongside his peers.

His family shared: “Thank you for your incredible generosity! Your kindness has made a meaningful difference in Haiden’s life and has provided an opportunity that otherwise would not have been possible.”

This is what Variety can do – thanks to you! With your support – together – we can open doors, create opportunities and empower children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with disabilities to thrive and reach their full potential.

Speech Pathology Week recognises the incredible value and impact of speech pathology across Australia, and this year we’re highlighting how the right support can create opportunities for people to live more connected, inclusive and fulfilling lives.

At Leaps and Bounds Disability Services, we are incredibly lucky to have such a brilliant speech pathology team! 💕 Their knowledge, passion and dedication help turn possibility into opportunity every day for the people we support.

From building communication skills and confidence, to supporting participation, inclusion and wellbeing, our Speechies play such an important role in helping people have their voices heard and their choices respected. 🌟

🌼 Celebrating Daffodil Day Together! 🌼

The Leaps and Bounds team came together today to celebrate Daffodil Day with a beautiful morning tea lovingly put together by our amazing AHA, Kath. 💛

Many of us have been affected by cancer in some way, making this day particularly meaningful. The daffodil is a symbol of hope, renewal, resilience, survival and new beginnings. 🌼

A big thank you to Kath for creating such a beautiful morning tea and bringing our team together to share, reflect and celebrate. 💛

Hi Leaps and Bounds Families!

Go and check out what our friends from Variety - the Children's Charity of Queensland are providing for families.

One of the amazing programs is the Motor Mouth Camp!

Motor Mouth Camp supports children who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems, alongside their families.

AAC includes any way of communicating other than speech, helping children express themselves and connect with others in meaningful ways. Through fun, supported activities, children build confidence using their AAC systems, while families learn and grow together.

Last year’s camp was a true highlight – and this year’s theme is “Welcome to the Jungle”.
