Congratulations to Ameerah, our newest Legend Award winner 🏆
We get a lot of nominations, but this one from her support worker Shay is honestly one of the best we've ever received. It's full of so much pride, and it shows just how far Ameerah has come. We couldn't keep it to ourselves, so here it is in Shay's own words:
"I would like to nominate Ameerah for the legend award, since I have been supporting Ameerah I have witnessed her grow into an amazing independent young woman and come out of her shell in her own amazing way! When we first met, Ameerah would not so much as order a drink if it meant talking to someone she didn’t know, but with some love, patience and care she has managed to get to a place that as of late she will make all of her own orders, ask strangers questions which strikes her curiosity and she is even making jokes with people in the community, it’s so amazing!🤩 Ameerah has also become extremely knowledgeable about her fish and aquariums and takes huge pride in learning about her fish’s needs, and learning about water health, a few weeks ago she tested her waters P.H levels all by her self for the first time, and can also now clean a tank all by herself and put the right chemicals to get it back to perfect. Ameerah has also been more open to different activities, like cooking, which she has not always been keen on as she never really knew how, but with some time and patience now Ameerah will ask me if we can cook and not only cook but cook HEALTHY food she can share with her family as she’s starting to understand and care about her body and mind health. Ameerah has also proceeded to take steps to get her learners license, and is extremely proud of herself and her 98% /100% score on the practice tests! I could go on and on but in every area I look Ameerah has made me SOO extremely proud of her progress and I think she is the PERFECT candidate for the legend award! 🥇😁😁😁"
