We are delighted to announce the joining of two local NDIS plan management companies, FNQ Plan Management and Future Plan Management.

With shared values and well-aligned processes, it's a natural choice for Tamara to join our FPM team. Consolidating our resources and experience allows us to stay agile and help manage change for our clients and their providers as we navigate NDIS 2.0.

National Carers Week is an initiative of Carers Australia, funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services, and coordinated with the assistance and participation of the National Carer Network.

So proud to announce that Future Plan Management has been granted a place on the national Disability Intermediaries Association Plan Management Advisory Group in preparation for helping inform
Government on the crucial role NDIS plan managers play in supporting vulnerable Australians living with disability.

I am part of a small group of Boutique Plan Managers (1-1000 clients) and we will gather and present valuable information to help the government see a middle ground to manage the big players with the specialists. Together, the sector has the opportunity to reform in a direction that addresses the financial and compliance challenges whilst still ensuring those who need specialist PM support can still continue to access specialist support.

Rest peacefully dear Heidi. Simply heartbroken. 💔

Dear community,

It is with incredible sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Heidi Wombat on Sunday 20th September, following a courageous cancer journey. Heidi went peacefully, and pain free, and was surrounded by the love of her family and closest friends.

In keeping with her wishes, a private funeral has already been held.

We know this will be a great shock and distressing news for many.

Heidi was a wonderful friend to multiple people. She was such a passionate disability advocate, whose tireless volunteer work, and non stop determination to fight the barriers and discrimination that face children with disabilities and their families, improved the lives of thousands of people in FNQ. Her two disability groups, this one and the Cairns Special Needs group, have become invaluable sources of information, connection and support across Far North Queensland.

In Heidi’s honour, we invite you to attend a special gathering of the Cairns Disability Network on Thursday 15th October at Spinal Life Australia Smith St in Cairns, anytime from 7am to 11am.

Participants and their families, providers / groups and anyone whose life has been touched by Heidi are invited to celebrate Heidi’s life and her enormous contribution to the disability community in Cairns. An opportunity to make a donation too will be made available shortly and on the day of the event.

Our love and thoughts are with her three sons. Heidi was a great Mum, her constant love succeeded in bringing out the best in them.

Sharing for a greater voice in healthcare choices for people diagnosed with MND.

💙WHERE ARE ALL OUR QLD MPs? 💙

Over the past week, I’ve received more “wishing you and your family all the best,” “well done for advocating,” or simply radio silence from Queensland MPs than I’d like to admit. 😂
And honestly… I get it.
Maybe Aaron and I aren’t in your electorate.
Maybe you think, “That’s not my constituent, so there’s not much I can do.”
But this isn’t about where Aaron lives.
This is about the entire MND community. 💙
There are people living with MND in every corner of Queensland — families behind closed doors, overwhelmed, exhausted, and just trying to get through another day.
They often don’t have the time, energy, or strength to fight.
So we’re fighting for them. 💙

Queensland has 93 Members of the Legislative Assembly and 30 Members of the Australian House of Representatives — and we want every single one of them standing with the MND community.

So here’s our challenge:
🐴 TAG YOUR QLD MP!
📍 Tag your local member below.
💙 Ask them to support Queensland’s MND community.
📲 Ask them to share our petition.
🗣️ Ask them to help us reach the signatures needed to bring this into Parliament.

It’s about choice. Dignity. Equity. Compassion.

And ensuring people living with MND have every appropriate option available to them.
We need change to the standard of care for people living with MND and their families.

We’re not asking MPs to stand up for Aaron personally.
We’re asking them to stand up for every Queenslander living with MND.

Cairns Disability Expo is at Raintrees Shopping Centre TODAY!

Tuesday 18th August - 9am to 5pm - over 130 stalls

Exhibitors showcasing supports such as employment, direct supports, inclusive sport, assistive technology, consumables, advocacy, community services, NDIS Plan Management, Support Coordination and much more. Meet with representatives of Mission Australia, NDIA and Services Australia. Plenty of accessible parking and a food court. See you there!
