Last Tuesday, we had the pleasure of attending the Pharmacy Guild’s Annual Dinner at The Marion! 🥂💊

A huge congratulations to all the finalists and winners for their incredible achievements and contributions to the pharmacy profession. A special shoutout to Summah for taking home Pharmacy Student of the Year! 🏆❤️ So well deserved!

Congratulations to Summah Holden who won ACT Student Pharmacist of the Year at the ACT National Pharmacy Awards this week 👏

Summah, a proud Dunghutti Woman, was nominated for her student leadership and advocacy, as well as her dedication to the advancement of cultural safety in the UC Pharmacy program.

Two other UC students were also nominated: Rachael March – for academic excellence and Honours research investigating local honey to reduce hay fever symptoms in Canberra – and Harsi Kaur, for student leadership and commitment to supporting culturally diverse communities.

“It is wonderful to see our students recognised not only for their academic achievements, but also for their leadership and commitment to improving pharmacy practice,” Associate Professor Mary Bushell, Pharmacy Discipline Lead, said.

“Summah's advocacy for cultural safety has made a meaningful contribution to our Pharmacy program and will help shape the next generation of pharmacists.”

Congrats also to recent graduate, Ragasudha Nutulapati, who won ACT Intern Pharmacist of the Year at the awards, recognising her commitment to delivering high-quality, culturally responsive pharmacy care.

Why I Joined CaSPA: I initially joined CaSPA because I wanted to be more involved with my cohort and meet new people! Since joining, I’ve come across many valuable opportunities available to students through CaSPA, and I want to make more students aware of these opportunities while creating a stronger sense of connection and community within our cohort 🫶🏻

Why I joined CaSPA: For me, joining the committee was all about community and connection. I felt so welcomed by this society as a first-year that I immediately wanted to get involved and recreate that experience for others. I wanted to get actively involved behind the scenes to help create fun networking and social events, making sure every pharmacy student feels like they truly belong here! It’s also my personal strategy to make sure I don’t study 24/7—we all need a supportive community to remind us to take a breather!

Fun Fact: Outside of studying, tap dancing and performing gigs for local festivals is my main outlet. It helps me find balance and fight off the burnout 💃🪩
