Feel like you’re just getting through the day?

The laundry.
The dishes.
The same tiny socks… again.

It can all feel repetitive.
Heavy.
Never-ending.

But what if these moments weren’t just chores?

What if they were part of your love story?

Folding clothes for the people you love.
Preparing meals that nourish your family.
Holding together the rhythm of your home.

Not glamorous.
But deeply meaningful.

And sometimes I remind myself:

The version of me before motherhood…
was praying for this life.

That doesn’t remove the hard.
But it softens how I hold it.

The guilt of feeling like you're failing your firstborn is so common. And so painful.

Here's a gentler way to hold it: repair over perfection.

You don't need to get every moment right. You need to keep coming back — to the apology, the extra cuddle, the second try.

This post is for the mum lying awake, replaying the day, wondering if she's doing enough. You are.

The calm mother is a myth.
The connected mother... she's everywhere. 💜
She loses it. And she comes back. She repairs without a script. She keeps showing up on the days she doesn't feel like enough.
If that's you... you're already doing it.

It’s 10 AM.

I’ve answered 25,000 questions.

“Why?”
“What’s that?”
“Can I have a snack?”
“Mum, watch this!”
“But WHYYYY?”

And my last remaining brain cell is just rocking back and forth, waiting for bedtime.

I love their curiosity.

But can someone PLEASE ask Dad a question?

You can feel grief… and still feel joy.

It’s not one or the other.

There are moments where you’re holding loss…
And then your child laughs.

Where sadness sits in your chest…
and a sunset still takes your breath away.

This is something we don’t talk about enough:

Joy doesn’t cancel pain.

It sits beside it.

It reminds you that even after everything… you are still here.
Still feeling.
Still capable of love and presence.

And after hard seasons, joy doesn’t always come back loud.

It returns quietly.
Gently.
In moments you almost miss.

If this resonates, this episode helps you understand how to hold both — without guilt, without pressure, and with compassion for yourself.

Big, uncomfortable feelings don't make you a bad mother.

Giving yourself permission to feel resentful, or touched out, or simply over it — without the shame spiral that usually follows — is the healthier path.

This post is your permission slip.

Joy doesn’t have to be loud.

Let’s be honest — parenting is already overstimulating enough.

There are days when what we crave most isn’t excitement.
It’s quiet.
Calm.
A moment to breathe and think.

In those moments, joy doesn’t look like glitter-filled dance parties or big belly laughs.

It looks softer than that.

A shared glance across the room.
A quiet cuddle.
A bedtime routine that gently holds the day together.

This episode is about reframing joy for the overwhelmed, sleep-deprived parent.

Because those small grounding moments of joy?

They’re not just valid.
They’re vital.

And I’m sharing this from lived experience — navigating sleep regressions, toddler development, pregnancy insomnia, and over a year without a full night’s sleep.

Sometimes the quietest joy is the one that carries us through.

Can't stand one more person touching you? You're not broken. You're touched out.

This is a real nervous system response, not a failure to love your family enough.

So many mums feel this and rarely say it out loud. This post gives it language, and lets you off the hook for feeling it.

Read this if you're touched out. Link in bio. The free Nervous System Quiz is linked too.
