We spend so much time preparing for a new baby.

The clothes. The nappies. The hospital bag. The feeding essentials.

But Mum’s recovery deserves consideration, too.

Pregnancy and birth can affect bladder control, and some women experience urinary leakage during the postpartum period. That doesn’t mean you should ignore it or feel you have to manage it alone.

If you’re experiencing leakage or changes after birth, speak with your GP, midwife or pelvic health physiotherapist about what may help.

Practical products can also play a role. Svelte offers discreet everyday continence support during postpartum recovery where bladder leakage and postpartum bleeding is part of the picture.

Your recovery is part of the journey. You deserve support through it.

Save this as a reminder for yourself or someone preparing for life after birth.

Continence isn't one-size-fits-all. And neither is the support people need.

Bladder leakage means accidentally losing urine. Bowel leakage can involve difficulty controlling stool or wind.

They can have different causes, affect people differently and require different approaches to management.

That's why understanding what's happening is an important first step. If you're experiencing changes in bladder or bowel control, a GP or continence health professional can help you explore the cause and suitable support.

Have you ever found continence information confusing or difficult to navigate? You're not alone, and these conversations deserve more space.

Save this post or share it with someone who might find it useful.

Continence conversations often focus on women, but men need a place in that conversation too.

Bladder leakage can affect men for many reasons, including during recovery after prostate surgery.

And the impact can reach beyond the physical side of it into work, exercise, travel and everyday life.

Support shouldn’t make someone feel like their world has become smaller.

Svelte is designed as discreet unisex pull-up continence underwear for adults who want practical support that fits into daily life.

Finish the sentence - I feel most comfortable when…

Maybe it’s when you’re in your favourite clothes.
When you’ve had a good night’s sleep.
When you can move without thinking about it.
When you’re completely yourself.

Your turn: I feel most comfortable when…

Maybe it was swimming.
Maybe travelling.
Maybe saying yes to a long lunch.
Maybe nothing at all.

But if you've ever quietly changed your plans because you were worried about bladder leakage, you're certainly not alone.

We're asking because these are the conversations that often don't happen.

You don't need to share your personal story in the comments. Instead, tell us: what's one activity you think people quietly avoid because of bladder leakage?

Let's make the conversation a little easier.

Pregnancy comes with plenty of conversations about how your body is going to change 🤰

But bladder leakage isn’t always one of them.

For some women, leaking when coughing, sneezing, laughing or exercising can happen during pregnancy. It can also continue during the postpartum period as the body recovers.

It’s common, but that doesn’t mean you have to quietly accept discomfort, embarrassment or uncertainty.

Talking to your GP, midwife or pelvic health physiotherapist can help you understand what’s happening and what support might be right for you.

And when you need practical protection along the way, Svelte is designed to offer discreet and comfortable support.

Sometimes the hardest part isn't knowing that you might leak.

It's thinking about everything that could happen if you do.

Where's the bathroom?
How long will I be out?
Should I bring a spare?
Will I be comfortable?
Will anyone notice?

These are the "what ifs" that can quietly influence everyday decisions.

Having appropriate continence support can't predict every situation or remove every concern.

But for some people, feeling prepared can make a difference to how confidently they approach their day.

That's why we think continence conversations need to include more than absorbency charts and product specifications.

They need to include real life.

A comfortable fit starts with the right measurement.

For Svelte, measure around the widest part of your waist or hips and use whichever measurement is larger.

Medium: 75–130 cm
Large: 100–140 cm

The sizes overlap. If you fall within both ranges, Medium may feel closer while Large may feel more relaxed. Use the Find Your Fit page on our website for more guidance.

The right fit can make a meaningful difference to comfort, movement and how discreet the product feels under clothing.

Still unsure?

You know the bathrooms.

You know how long you can comfortably go between them.

You know exactly which café has one downstairs and which one has the accessible bathroom around the corner.

You probably don't even think about how much mental energy goes into planning around your bladder.

Until you don't have to.

Continence support won't necessarily remove every consideration, but having an option that works for your needs can make some situations feel a little less complicated.

And sometimes, a little less complicated is a big deal.

If you know someone who is always planning their day around bathroom access, send this to them.

What does “better” actually mean when it comes to continence underwear?

For Svelte, it starts with five principles.

01. Comfort first
02. Fully breathable
03. Made for movement
04. Fast-absorbing core
05. Crafted with precision

None of these features exist in isolation.

Together, they shape the experience of wearing Svelte throughout your day.

Because we don’t believe continence support should simply do its job.

We believe it should feel good to wear, too.

This is The Svelte Standard.
