📣We're moving! Today marks the end of an era for Your Side.

After 11 years in the Help Street building and six years in our current office, today was our final day in Chatswood before we relocate to our new home in St Leonards.

While we prepare for the move, our team will be working remotely. During this time, you can still reach us by phone and email, and we will continue to provide the same support and service you know us for.

Our new office space is a better fit for our current functions and has been thoughtfully chosen to support the needs of our clients and staff, while providing room for Your Side to grow and evolve into the future.

We look forward to welcoming you to our new office in the coming weeks at:

Intergenerational relationships foster understanding, respect and a sense of belonging, reminding us that we all have something valuable to learn from one another.👵🧓

📣Your Side is moving! ➡After 11 years in the building on Help Street, Chatswood, and six years in this office, it is time for a change!

As our organisation grows, we reviewed the needs of our clients and staff, and the type of space we will need to support our goals. We can now share the news that we have a new home for Your Side, in an office space that is a better fit for our current functions and will suit our needs as we grow and evolve.

The decision considered a balance of our operational needs; the cost of a lease; the experience and amenities for clients and staff; and a space that reflects Your Side’s brand and position as a leader of premium quality home care.

Don’t worry though, we are not going far!

🍏We had the best time at the on Saturday. It was a fun day spent connecting with the local community, meeting so many friendly and familiar faces, and chatting with people interested in aged care services and support.

Our Aged Care Support Specialists enjoyed answering questions, sharing information, and hearing the stories and experiences of those they met.😀

A big thank you to everyone who visited our stall. We loved being part of such an enjoyable community event. 🌞

💚This Carers Week, our Aged Care Support Specialists have been out in the community sharing how aged care services can help carers and what resources are available.

Our specialist Sharon, got to present in Mandarin to a wonderful group of carers. Over afternoon tea, she shared information on how to access aged care and what supports are available to carers. The group was so engaged and appreciative of having information shared in-language. 😊

Nestor, Daniela and Dr Snow Li, enjoyed visiting Our Lady of Dolours Church in Chatswood, for a morning tea presentation. It was an intimate gathering filled with lots of thoughtful questions. It's always great hearing individual stories and being able to talk through how aged care services can help in those specific cases. 😀

At Your Side, we believe that every life can be a good one, including the lives of carers. If you are a carer for someone over the aged of 65, accessing aged care services for them can also support you as a carer.

💙This Carers Week, we celebrate the contributions of unpaid carers who support their loved ones every day. At Your Side, we provide care for our clients alongside the family and friends who provide countless hours of unpaid care. Unpaid carers dedicate their time and energy to support their loved ones, significantly impacting the positive wellbeing of the person they support.

In Australia, there are around 3 million unpaid carers, with 17% aged over 65. We respect the important work of all the unpaid carers in our community; they bring compassion and respect to their role and responsibilities every day. 💚

A massive thank you to all carers for the support you provide. While caring for others can be rewarding, it can also be demanding. We encourage you to take the time to prioritise your own wellbeing. Carers often put the needs of those they support first, which can lead to carer stress and burnout. There are services available to help you as a carer. The Carer Gateway is a resource that supports carers, you can contact them on 1800 422 737.

As part of Carers Week, we are hosting a free webinar for carers today and this Sunday. Registration for Sunday’s session are open until Friday. Visit our website to learn more and register.

For older people, staying connected with family, friends and their community can greatly impact their overall wellbeing. As an organisation, we’re committed to creating opportunities of connection and supporting them through our care and social support activities.

We understand that positive and negative mental health affects all of us. There is a strength in being able to talk about our feelings and reach out for support when needed.

At Your Side we have a Counselling and Coaching service that is available to anyone regardless of your age and circumstance. Our qualified Counsellors and Coaches (pictured) are here to listen and talk about your mental health concerns. We believe that everyone deserves dignity, connection and access to mental health care. Working together with a Counsellor or Coach, can help you thrive. 💙
