When do we stop listening to our bodies?
As girls, we start learning how to live inside them. Then we grow into teenagers and maidens, we focus on taking care of ourselves eating better, going to the gym, exercising, doing whatever we think will help us feel in control.
Then life changes. We meet someone. We become partners. We have kids. And suddenly our bodies don’t just “look different” they go through real, major change. Recovery, hormones, stress, and the pressure to “get back to normal” can make it feel like you have no choice but to keep going, even when you’re not okay.
And then menopause comes. No one can fully prepare you for it. There are so many changes that nobody explains. People act like it’s simple and beautiful, yet for many women it feels heavy, it feels sad, and it feels real. Your body changes: sweats, weight gain, new aches, and the aftermath of everything you’ve been through.
For me, the biggest truth is this: at some point, I stopped listening to myself.
What we eat matters, too, though it is not just about food. Often we do not check in. Our minds move from one thing to the next, searching for something to eat to get through the day. We feel mentally exhausted, and in this world, outside forces take over so much of who we are. We forget to tune in. We overlook what we actually need.
This year has been a turning point for me. I peeled back layers and removed people who drained me or lied about me behind my back or the universe did.
I am not holding back anymoreI am being honest.
For 25 years I’ve been healing and helping others, yet sometimes my words were misunderstood and twisted. I kept opening my door to support people. Even when I believed I was giving love, stress still built up inside me. Stress affects everything, what we eat, how we feel, and how our body responds. When you ignore yourself long enough, your body starts to respond in a bigger way.
So here is what I want to add to my message:
You have a chance right now to listen and not do it alone.
Not everyone aligns with you. That is okay. Meet the people who match your energy, respect you, and support you. Do not give your heart and time to everyone just because you have done it before.
Please listen to your intuition.
Your intuition speaks, especially when you slow down enough to hear it.
That means quiet time. Moments where you stop rushing, stop overthinking, and just listen. When you get that first big “listen” that gut feeling, that inner knowing, take it seriously. Do not dismiss it. Do not wait for it to get louder.
Because your body and your spirit are not punishing you they are guiding you.
And if you’re reading this, I hope you hear it clearly: your body is doing its best to talk to you. Please do not ignore it.
Like my healer said to me your body remembers, get out of the way you will heal quicker!
Enjoy the rest of your week!
