Rosacea isn't just “red skin”.

Flushing. Persistent redness. Visible vessels. Burning. Sensitivity. Acne-like bumps.
Rosacea can look very different from one person to another — which is exactly why copying someone else's skincare routine isn't always helpful.

Good management starts with working out what you're actually treating, identifying individual triggers and building a routine the skin can tolerate.

Then additional treatments can be considered where appropriate. This can include prescription and not prescription topicals and orals, oral and topical pre and probiotics treatments, in clinic treatments, gut microbiome testing and much more. And above all, close follow up through your journey.

Calm the skin before chasing perfect skin.

Acne treatment shouldn't stop when the pimples disappear.

Clearing active acne is step one.
Then we think about what it has left behind — persistent redness, pigmentation, texture and scarring.
And that's where treatment becomes very individual.
For some patients, the priority is still controlling inflammation. This can include oral and topical antibiotics, precription medication, prescription and non prescription retinols, alpha and beta hydroxy acids, supplements, pre and probiotics, gut health and much more. We individualise each approach.

For others, once acne is stable, we can start discussing treatments aimed at residual marks or established scarring.

Control the disease first.
Treat what it left behind second.

The spot you're worried about isn't always the spot we're worried about.

Patients often come in and immediately point to the spot.
And absolutely — we'll look at it.
But sometimes the more important finding is somewhere completely different.
That's why a comprehensive skin check isn't simply a quick look at one mole. Doctors may examine the rest of the skin and use dermoscopy to assess individual lesions more closely.
You show us what you've noticed.
We'll look at the bigger picture.

Summer is coming. When did you last properly look at your skin?

We spend summer looking at our skin more — but that doesn't necessarily mean we're checking it.
Get familiar with what's normal for you.

Look for something: NEW. CHANGING. DIFFERENT. NOT HEALING.

And remember, skin cancers aren't limited to obvious dark moles. They can also appear as persistent pink, scaly, crusting or non-healing lesions.

If something has changed or simply doesn't look right, have it assessed rather than waiting for your next routine check.

Your sunscreen doesn't know it's winter.
Theme: Sunscreen myth
One I’d definitely run because it's simple and shareable.
Sunscreen isn't a summer product.
UV exposure occurs throughout the year, and in Australia sun protection is recommended whenever the UV Index reaches 3 or above — not according to the temperature or season. �

So don't ask:
“Is it hot enough for sunscreen?”
Ask:
“What's the UV today?”
Your skin doesn't care what month it is.

SunCoast Skin is looking for an experienced Dermal Clinician or Advanced Dermal Therapist to join our established doctor-led skin clinic in Coolum Beach.
We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running, with strong hands-on experience in advanced skin treatments and a genuine interest in evidence-based skin health and rejuvenation.

Our dermal and rejuvenation services include:
BBL HERO and advanced IPL
HALO and fractional laser
RF microneedling
Microneedling
PRX and chemical peels
LED
Advanced facials
Acne, rosacea and pigmentation programs
Medical-grade skincare and home-care planning

You’ll work alongside experienced doctors and nurses within a multidisciplinary skin clinic, while independently consulting, developing treatment plans and managing your own dermal patients.

We’re looking for someone who is warm, professional and confident with patients, with at least 2–3 years' experience in advanced dermal or laser treatments. Experience with laser/IPL and relevant Queensland laser licensing is highly regarded.
Training on our specific platforms can be provided, but applicants should already have a strong foundation in advanced skin assessment and treatment.
What we offer: an established patient base, advanced laser and rejuvenation technology, doctor and nursing support, reception and administration support, strong local marketing and referral pathways, and opportunities for further training and professional development.
The position is part-time initially, with scope to increase hours as your patient base grows.

This is a dedicated skin-focused role within an established doctor-led clinic providing skin cancer medicine, dermatology and advanced skin rejuvenation.
We offer an established patient base, excellent procedural facilities, experienced nursing and administrative support, and flexible sessions.
We’re looking for someone who is thorough, collaborative and a genuine team player, with unrestricted AHPRA registration and no restrictions on practice. Additional skin cancer qualifications and procedural experience are highly regarded.
No general GP required. Just the opportunity to focus on skin.

• Men are more likely to be diagnosed with melanoma than women.

• Outdoor workers have almost double the risk of squamous cell carcinoma compared with indoor workers.
• Melanoma rates continue to rise in Australians over 65, particularly men.
• South East Queensland has some of the highest melanoma rates in the world.
