ENAR Therapy (which stands for Electro-Neuro-Adaptive-Regulator Therapy) is a non-invasive, drug-free electrotherapy treatment designed to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and support the body's natural healing processes.
How It Works
Interactive Biofeedback: Unlike a standard TENS machine (which delivers a fixed, repetitive electrical pulse just to block pain signals temporarily), an ENAR device communicates directly with the nervous system in real time. It sends computer-modulated electrical impulses through the skin and continuously reads the body's physiological response, automatically adapting its signal based on that feedback.
Targeting "Asymmetries": When the handheld device is moved across the skin, it detects key areas of physiological difference or stress (referred to as "asymmetries" or treatment keys)—often matching areas lacking normal homeostasis.
Neuro-Peptide Release: By stimulating these nerve pathways, the treatment encourages the central nervous system to release regulatory neuropeptides and natural healing hormones, aiming to restore homeostatic balance and reduce pain.
Primary Uses & Applications
ENAR therapy is widely used by practitioners (such as physiotherapists, sports coaches, and chiropractors) as well as for home use:
Musculoskeletal & Joint Pain: Managing chronic conditions like back pain, neck pain, arthritis, shoulder issues, and sciatica.
Sports Injuries: Treating acute strains, muscle spasms, and helping accelerate post-injury or post-surgical recovery.
Nerve-Related Issues: Assisting with neuralgia and localized inflammation.
The treatment is typically administered by gliding the device directly over bare skin or over areas of discomfort, creating a mild, comfortable tingling or pulsing sensation as the body responds.
