In the silky rolling water this morning, I felt different. There was so much softness around me - the way the birds moved together, the gentle blush of sunrise, the roundness of the rhythm of water in and out.

As I was drying off holding the feeling of softness, a conversation began with two people sharing their appreciation of beauty in gardens. I felt myself open my mouth and then stop. ‘Listen just listen’ I heard from within. I did and the conversation continued and became something that left us all in a soft and beauty filled place. It was simply sharing of two experiences - neither wanting front of stage, equally they shared and listened. Neither wanted the better story.

It would have been usual for me to chime in with a story of my own, but one that I realise now would suck the energy from the two there for it was an ‘I did this and achieved that’ kinda story.

Ego.

I’d never had the courage to just listen on this topic. It’s a comfortable place to share my expertise on it. It’s an ego boost based on taking from others though. Yuk.
Feeling enough for myself so I don’t seek validation is a freeing belief to foster.
I love the learning journey Im on, I don’t always like what I discover about myself but I know how to change. Values.

How children are parented and understanding them is just so important for their growth and how much they have to overcome as adults.
