Live in a dignified way. As that 'Shiva' - Brahman ! Let body do what it is doing. None of your business.

Technique of self-inquiry is the easiest technique and direct technique. It takes us exactly where we have to be, instantaneously. So self-realization is the first step, and the rest of all the steps are to stay there. That's all.

While in other techniques, you put your legs up, take air from right nostril, left nostril, do this, do that, make your ego bigger, and then you come to self-inquiry. Wastage of time.

Self-inquiry challenges the very person who is doing the inquiry. It negates the person and wants you to identify that pure awareness which is watching this show, uninvolved, from a distance, and be that.

It is not interested in your personal stories and your experiences and your Siddhis. Time stops for the person who has transcended from body-mind into awareness. To me, it is like receding back, going backward, coming to the source. So much out of the picture that you become that eternal screen.

You come out completely. You cannot take anything with you. No thoughts, no body, no mind, no intellect, no relationship, nothing. Then what sorrow, what death? When all forms are that awareness, then for whose death will you cry? And then who is not you?

In body consciousness, we say, "This is my family and this is outsider, and this is my religion and this is not my religion."

I feel this is the best seat in the theater: staying as awareness. You can see everything within this body, other bodies, other things, everything to infinity. And nobody can take away this seat from you because nobody knows where you are. Where they think you are, you are not there. Even if someone wants to kill you, they cannot. They can't find you.

Reflection: Bhagavan teaches in For Those with Little Dust, Page III that there are two paths: to enquire into who we truly are, or to surrender completely to the Guru. Through self-enquiry, the mind returns to its source. Through surrender, we let go of the mind’s control and trust the Guru’s Grace. Both paths lead us beyond the ego to the truth of the Self.

Reflection: Silent Presence is not something to experience; it is what you truly are. Let go of the ego and rest as the Self, which never comes or goes. You are already whole, complete, and untouched by change. — Satsang of 29th May 2024

A person abiding in Self cannot be selfish, because two things are two ends of the spectrum. If you see someone selfish, no chance he can be attaining Brahman soon.

All the saints say that you are not this body. This body is not for you. This is also not to serve you anything. Only purpose of this body is to serve humanity, make it free from your own selfishness, let it help everyone. That is the purpose of the body.

And you know who you are. Come back to the source and stay there, because all the forms what we see are part of matter. Bodies are matter, but we are not matter.

So you stay where you are. Don't degrade yourself by going and behaving as, "I am the body." You stay as you are.

Reflection: Bhagavan teaches in Letters, 13-9-1947 that happiness does not depend on having costly things. We can live well with simple things and be content with what is already available. When fewer things are needed, the mind becomes lighter and life becomes simpler.

Sometimes I talk to people. The most important thing which worries them is money because they've acquired some money now, they want to keep it or they want to multiply, and they think, "If I am in Brahman, then I have no desire." But no desire doesn't mean that whatever you have, someone will take it away. And even if someone will take it away, remember your Guru, our teacher Ramana. At least you will be left with one kopina, at least.

And there are still caves in India, and I can assure you, you cannot die hungry. There is so much food. No place left, you go to Ramanashram. They give free food every day. And around the Girivalam, thousands of Sadhus sleep. You can also sleep.

But the mind, how to convince a greedy mind, selfish mind, mind full of Vasanas? So difficult, isn't it? That is why purity of mind is so important on this path.

So many Western teachers, even from this neo-non-duality, they never take up this. They talk about it as if you are sitting and you get Brahman. Oh, you got it, and the end of the story. That is the start of a story. What happens after that? They slip away again, and no support system. Without a support system, you cannot sustain Brahman in the presence of a Gyani. Or sometimes you can attain, but getting into it and not sleeping, that is what it is.

There comes the role of self-abidance, self-inquiry, self-attention, purity of mind, purity of deeds, having a Guru, having some devotion, reading of scriptures to contemplate.

If someone comes, listens to Satsang, and gets permanent abidance in Self, it happens because they have already done everything. They were just at that last step. They just wanted to hear "Aham Brahmasmi," and they have done it.

But if someone who has not done it, not interested, hears and gets some experience, for it to solidify into that, it is a journey, it is practice, it is effort.

Sometimes, people like questions. The other time, someone was asking whether onion and garlic should be eaten or not. It's a good question. Bhagavan gave emphasis on these things also: the food what you eat, the type of work you do, how you interact with people around you.

You want Brahman and you insult everyone. You treat everyone badly, and you want Brahman. How is it possible? When we are like that, coming from inside, from that inside, whatever inside will come out, isn't it? If Brahman is there, Brahman will come out with love. Full of ego, anger will come out.

Reflection: When the mind becomes still, Reality shines by itself. Turn inward and rest in the Silence of your true Self. No worldly joy can compare to the lasting Bliss of abiding in this pure Awareness. — Satsang of 29th May 2024

These eyes of wisdom are the eyes of Brahman. When it opens in your heart, it gives you different set of eyes where everyone is same, everyone is equal, everyone is one. Because everyone has the same staying as Brahman, nothing is burden, no work is a job because there is no doership. You feel so light, so fresh. Without planning, everything happens.

In Ribhu Gita, Ribhu says what Shiva told him: that let's say a man was supposed to accomplish X number of tasks in this life because of Prarabdha Karma, as predestined, and he attains Brahman. That Brahman will somehow accomplish everything for him, like someone is doing your homework. Shiva is doing your homework. You are coming to the class. He is putting your proxy. It's everything is being done.

It will make sure it is done. Though for a Jnani, it doesn't matter whether things are done or not. He is free. But still, if someone thinks, "I had these responsibilities which should have been..." Have you seen any Jnani repenting like that? "That this realization came too early on me? I had some unfinished task." It's only idiots like us who speak like this. "Oh, I have few things, otherwise I would be a Gyanee. No, I have to sort out these couple of important things first."

All these scriptures are for reassurance that don't worry if you think there were some responsibilities, they will be sorted out. You just come back to Krishna. That is what Krishna says all the time in Bhagavad Gita. You just remember me. I will sort out everything for you. He's not saying that I will give this work to one of my assistants.

He's saying, "I will do it."

You just remember me.

Reflection: Sri V. Ganesan shares in Ramana Periya Puranam how Bhagavan cared for his devotees with a mother’s love, a father’s protection, a teacher’s guidance, and a friend’s warmth. By trusting the Guru and surrendering our doubts, the mind can become quiet. In that quietness, we become open to the Guru’s guidance and Grace.

Reflection: Do not let thoughts disturb your peace. You are not the mind, but the ever-present Silence that remains untouched by its movements. Turn inward and rest as that unchanging Awareness. — Satsang of 29th May 2024
