Wounds Awareness Week.

Most people don't know the importance of an experienced wound clinician until you have a wound that is not healing as it should.

Cindy shares her time between ERH Wound Clinic and private practice to ensure our community has access to exceptional care. Our team consists of a group of passionate wound nurses who are available to help you. Cindy and Karrin provide specialised wound and lymphoedema care, PK wound care, soon to be both as well.

Echuca/Moama is very privileged with our available services that also include our district nursing teams, hospital in the home team, practice nurses and aged care package nurses.

If you are concerned, so are we. Ask your nurse or doctor for assistance or if referral required for escalation. Self referral is also accepted at all clinics and services.

Wound Awareness Week is our chance to advocate for the 450,000 Australians who live with a chronic wound. These Australians are right now living with wounds that are preventable or slow to heal, often leading to pain, reduced quality of life, and avoidable hospitalisations.

The positive news is, so many chronic wounds could be healed sooner with the right treatment at the right time or even prevented entirely through proper acute care and appropriate lifestyle changes.

No! A wound that won’t heal should never simply be dismissed as part of ageing.
Older skin can be more vulnerable, and some health conditions can make wounds more difficult to heal. But that makes good wound care MORE important, not less.

Do you know the signs of a wound infection? ⚠️

❌ Redness, swelling & heat
❌ Pain
❌ Pus (a thick, yellowish liquid coming from the wound)

See a healthcare practitioner as soon as possible if you notice these signs! Left untreated, an infection can spread through the body and become life-threatening.
