Soulesque Art with Lisa Chirio For 7 years I've been hosting fun and social art workshops in my Edmonton home studio. Connect and create over coffee and conversation.

We use all types of art media and tools to create soulful artworks that are meaningful and you can be proud of.

This morning I came into the studio to tidy but instead my creative brain said with a snigger, "let's make something".
It knows I'm vulnerable 🤪
Righteo, I'm up for a challenge this morning... 🖌️🎨

I decided I wanted it to be as intuitive and as random as possible, so as I walked through the studio I grabbed some random scraps from the bench, a random page from a magazine, and two colours that I thought would create mud when I blended them 😬
And off I went, determined to use all the scraps and colours I chose.

Embrace was found on the back of the magazine page I pulled.
I smiled.
Don't you just love what the universe sends you?
And that's what I did.
I embraced what I had in front of me and made it work.

It's a bit messy, a bit muddy, but so is life, and I'm good with that.
And I absolutely love how this came together.

Art journaling is sooo much fun.
I can explore and experiment, mess around and see what happens.

And it's bloody good for the soul.

Smear, dab and doodle.
Don't think about it too much.
Just get paint on the page and move it around.
Dry it off and doodle away.
And remember...if it makes you smile it's perfectly imperfect. 😊🥰🙏🏼

For your enjoyment here are some adorable Highland Cows along with some cuties on the canvas from my kids classes which they chose to paint for their end of term project.

I'm taking bookings now for a fun and fabulous final term for the year.

Grab a bundle of scraps and tissue, ink and glue, then sprinkle in some leaves of tea, and what unfolds on the page you'll see.....
Don't aim for perfection, just make art. Make 'bad' art - lots of it - and learn from it. 🫶🏼
Then be happy with whatever showed up on the page. 🙏🏼

I took some time for a Sunday 'soul sesh' today creating in my little journal.
With no goal or intention, I simply started with media that was in front of me and went with the flow, working with those elements where they landed, always trusting the process and staying open to the possibilities.
And that's pretty much how life is.
Sometimes you just have to go with the flow...

A couple of weeks ago we created this fantastical project.

"Fantasy is an exercise bike for the mind" and I was completely awestruck at the soul, intuition and playfulness that came through every version.
I'm so incredibly proud 🫶🏼 💕🙏🏼

Each week I create a project that goes into step by slides with videos and photos to follow and I provide resources and things to trace if anything is tricky.

It's always geared towards beginners.
Every artisan has complete creative licence to take the project in any direction they choose and I am never disappointed.

Accidental or not there was serious creative genius on display here.
My heart is full 🥰

For those wondering...
Thursday nights are overbooked.
Only Friday mornings I have places.
Sorry 😔
Kids places available Monday and Tuesday afternoons.

In the studio our adult groups chose to create these needle felted Waldorf dolls.
I think they are so unique and adorable.
For a first time effort everyone did a fantastic job.

Adults and kids classes have a few places available at the moment.
Term 3 will commence the week of July 20.

World Environment Day June 5 and World Oceans Day June 8 were both commemorated in this mixed media art journal project.
Watercolour, ink, acrylic and markers.
