Support shouldn’t stop at the therapy-room door. 🌿

We support children across home, school and community environments through collaborative, individualised approaches that respond to their real-life needs.

Our Allied Health Assistants can also provide outreach support to help practise strategies, build everyday skills and work towards therapy goals where they matter most. With a lower hourly rate than clinician-led sessions, families may be able to access more support hours and make their available funding go further.

Not every feeling can be put into words and it doesn’t have to be. 🎨

Creative Arts Therapy uses art, movement and self-expression to help children and young people explore emotions, process experiences, build confidence and strengthen their sense of identity.

There’s no need to be “good at art.” It’s about having a safe, creative way to express what’s happening inside.

Therapy doesn’t always look like sitting in a chair and talking.

Sometimes, it looks like:
✨ Building cubbies
✨ Painting and creating
✨ Playing games
✨ Swinging and moving
✨ Telling stories

Because through play, children can communicate, process experiences, practise new skills and make sense of their world, all in ways that feel natural and safe to them.

It may look like play, but it can be incredibly meaningful therapeutic work. 💛

🌸Meet Sheree- Our Continence Nurse!🌸

We’re so excited to welcome Sheree to Foundations & Friends!

Sheree is an AHPRA-registered Registered Nurse and Continence Nurse Specialist, bringing a warm, compassionate and practical approach to supporting children, young people and their families.

Through her service, Confident Steps Continence, Sheree provides individualised support to help families navigate bladder, bowel and toileting challenges with greater confidence, comfort and independence.

How can Sheree help?

✨ Bladder, bowel and toileting support
✨ Continence product recommendations ✨ NDIS continence assessment reports ✨ Practical strategies and education for families, carers and support teams

As both a Registered Nurse and a mum of three, including a child who is an NDIS participant, Sheree understands the importance of having professionals who genuinely listen and develop strategies that work for your family and everyday life.

Continence support isn't just about toileting. It's about building confidence, supporting independence and helping children and young people participate comfortably in their everyday environments. 💗

Sheree provides support for families both with and without NDIS funding.

We are so excited to introduce Esta and Jennifer, our wonderful Allied Health Therapy Assistants, who are now welcoming new families.

Working under the clinical supervision of our Developmental Educator and Psychologists, they provide practical, strengths-based support that helps children build confidence, independence and everyday skills across home, school, community and clinic settings.

💜 Meet Esta
With a Diploma of Community Services and a Certificate in Education Support, Esta has extensive experience supporting children with diverse learning, behavioural and social-emotional needs. She works alongside families to implement therapy strategies in everyday environments, helping children develop the skills they need to thrive.

🌿 Meet Jennifer
Many of our families already know Jennifer as one of our Holistic Counsellors. We are excited that she is now expanding her role to also provide Allied Health Therapy Assistant services.

With more than 10 years' experience in early childhood development and education, Jennifer brings a calm, nurturing approach to supporting children. Drawing on counselling-informed principles and nature-based experiences, she helps children feel safe, connected and confident while implementing therapy strategies that build emotional regulation, independence and everyday life skills.

Our Therapy Assistants can support children with:

🧩 Therapy strategy implementation
🔍 Classroom and environmental observations
🌱 Skill development and community participation

📍 Support available in clinic (Emerald), at home, in schools and within the community.

Esta: Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays (Outreach across the Cardinia and Yarra Ranges Shires)

✨ What is an Allied Health Therapy Assistant?
Therapy Assistants work under the direction and supervision of our clinicians to implement individualised therapy plans in everyday environments. This allows children to practise and generalise skills more consistently across home, school and the community while families receive a cost-effective extension of their therapy supports.
