Hello October 🌸

A new month and a deeper dive into spring. A season that holds the feeling of possibility.

Today was a beautiful day in Sydney, and nature felt like the perfect place for a morning meeting.

I always find the beginning of a new month has a different energy - a feeling that we can reset, start fresh, get clear on our intentions and begin taking actions that align with our dreams.

There is still time before the end of the year, so take the pressure off and start where you are, taking small actions that create forward movement and feel good not just in the mind, but in the body too.

Not everything needs to be directly focused on the end dream, because learning, growing and healing are also taking place - all of which support the bigger picture and who we truly are.

Also, allow room for dreams to organically take shape and arrive in ways you couldn’t have planned or imagined. You don’t need to organise every detail or know exactly how it is all going to happen.

So take some time this month to dream without needing to know the how, and connect with your body. What feels good? What no longer feels true? What are you ready to gently let go of so there is room for something new to grow?

And if you don’t have the space to dream right now because you’re focused on holding it all together, start small.

✨ My 2-minute Returning to Self Quiz can help you gain some clarity on what needs more of your attention right now. Link is in my bio.

Move at your own pace, focus on what is important to you and keep it simple.

Take gentle care,

Where we naturally focus our thoughts and energy can make a difference to how we move through our experiences.

It takes a lot of energy to constantly question our decisions, focus on what went wrong or think about what we wish we had done differently. And the self-judgement that can come with it.

But when we become consciously aware of where our energy is going, we can begin to shift our attention towards what has emerged because of what we’ve lived through.
What have you learnt about yourself?
What strengths and skills have you developed along the way?
How have you grown?

Life isn’t about being perfect or getting it right. Sometimes it’s about giving ourselves some grace, looking at things from another perspective and getting curious about what is emerging now.

🌱 So, in keeping with the theme of Spring, take a moment to notice your growth and how far you have come.

And as you move through your day, notice your thoughts, your words and how your body responds.
Energised or drained?
Light or heavy?
Supported in your growth or held back?

Awareness creates an opportunity to choose what you want instead and gently introduce kinder options. 💚

As September comes to an end, what if this week was more about making space for wonder than getting stuck in the why? 💚

Make it light and playful.
Notice the beauty in the simple things.
Let yourself experience something without needing to understand why.

Give your body a chance to take the lead, before the mind jumps in to analyse, explain or figure it out.

Notice what grabs your attention.
What feels good, makes you smile.
Allow yourself to enjoy it for what it is.

✨ How can you make a little more space for wonder this week? ✨

Maybe it looks like…
Breaking up those moments of overthinking.
Noticing when you're holding yourself back, expecting the worst.
Choosing a little fun when everything feels too serious.
Taking the scenic route, even if it takes a little longer.
Saying yes to the small moments that light you up.

You get to choose, without adding pressure.

Wishing you a gentle week with a little more allowing, noticing and being… and a little less thinking, pushing and doing.

Does something feel off?

Maybe you’re noticing that you’re overthinking everything. Reacting to things in ways that surprise you. Or an old issue has appeared yet again, something you thought you had dealt with.

Sometimes we just need the space to explore what’s going on, drop out of the mind and reconnect with the body to gain another perspective.

At Luminousness, each 1:1 session blends Kinesiology, ThetaHealing® and somatic practices, helping bring some clarity to what might be influencing your experience.

Please feel free to send me a message if you have any questions or you’re unsure whether this is for you. Otherwise, you can book a session via the link in bio.

You don’t need to have the answers.
Curiosity is the perfect place to start.

Take gentle care,
Nicole

I talk a lot about curiosity, so I wanted to share what that actually looks like for me.

I practise it every day in some shape or form, and one of those ways is on a bush walk.

When I’m on a bush walk I don’t wear headphones. I love listening to the movement around me - the wind, the animals, the leaves and the crunch beneath my feet. I want to be present and notice what’s happening around me and within me.

Sometimes before I start, I set an intention. Maybe I’m looking for clarity or a greater understanding of something, or sometimes I’m ready to let go.

Then I walk and stay open to what crosses my path, as well as the thoughts that arrive or a memory that suddenly pops into my mind.

I do my best not to grab onto anything or immediately try to find meaning. I’m just collecting pieces of the puzzle along the way.

So anything that grabs my attention or makes me stop, I take a mental note. For example, if a lizard scurries across my path, later I might look up its spiritual meaning and see if anything resonates.

An Australian Bush Flower may catch my attention, and I’ll be intrigued to see what qualities are associated with that flower through the Australian Bush Flower Essences. Is there something I could infuse into my life, or something to defuse?

When the walk is over, I sift through what I’ve collected. What feels meaningful? What have I learnt?

Or maybe it was just a beautiful walk in nature. That’s the beauty of curiosity. It’s wonder without the why, not chasing or forcing an answer. I have the choice to explore what comes up or simply leave it as it is.

Curiosity takes the pressure off needing to know and allows the pieces to naturally fall into place.

How can you bring more wonder than why into your day?💚

Sometimes we hold on because, in some way, it feels safer.

We might search for the answer, replay something over and over, try to control the outcome, look outside ourselves for reassurance, or simply keep pushing through.

And sometimes we don't even realise how much energy it's taking.

Letting go isn't always as simple as deciding to “let go”.

There may be fear, uncertainty, expectations, old patterns, or something within us that is simply trying to feel safe.

This is where awareness can be powerful.

Noticing without immediately trying to fix or change what we find.
Becoming curious about what is happening in the mind and body.
Bringing a little compassion to the present moment.

And perhaps asking:
What am I holding onto?
What might I be trying to protect?
What would help me feel supported right now?

We don't have to have all the answers.
Sometimes one small shift, one choice, or even simply becoming aware can create a little more space for something new.

💛 What does “holding on” look or feel like for you?

And if this has brought something to your awareness and you'd like to explore a little further, my free Returning to Self quiz is there as a gentle next step. It takes around 2 minutes and can help bring some clarity around what may be asking for attention right now. Link in bio. ✨

R U OK?

Today is a reminder of the importance of taking the time to check in with one another.

The question “Are you OK?” carries more than just the words; it carries feeling, acknowledgement, support, compassion and understanding. It shows someone that you care, that you have noticed a change in them, and that you are willing to take the time to genuinely listen to what they have to say.

You don’t need to change or fix someone, and you don’t need to worry about getting it right. These three simple words can open up a conversation and create a space where someone feels seen and heard at a time when they might be feeling alone, overwhelmed, carrying a heavy load or unsure of what to do next.

Being present and holding space through listening can be incredibly powerful. Sometimes we don’t need someone to give us the answers, we need the connection that reminds us we don’t have to navigate everything on our own.

There are resources and support available, so whether you are supporting someone else or you need support yourself, please reach out. I have included a list of organisations below that can help in Australia.

You don’t have to carry it alone.

🌱 Spring Into Possibility

I love the smell and feel of Spring, and what it represents.

As we enter a new season, it feels like a new opportunity. A shift in energy, mindset and movement.

There’s something beautiful about emerging from Winter. Maybe it’s the change in temperature, seeing the first signs of new growth, and noticing what’s been quietly taking shape beneath the surface.

Spring feels like a beautiful invitation to release what’s no longer serving us, honour what we’ve been working through, and create space for new growth and possibility.

I am excited to see how it unfolds.

September is also my birthday month, and as I creep closer to 50 (next year 😳), I find myself seeing life through slightly different eyes.

There’s a deeper appreciation for the little things, greater focus on prioritising my nervous system and constantly readjusting to the reality of what is, rather than what I think it should be.

I’m letting go of what really isn’t important, feeling more gratitude and seeing the magic that can exist amongst the chaos and challenges. I’m learning to ask for support and accept that I don’t have to do it all.

And what I’m learning most is to honour my own uniqueness more and more. Embracing possibility, not by becoming someone new, but creating more space for who I already am.

Wishing you a gentle start to this new season.
Nicole 💚

Feeling it rather than finding it.

So much of what we do when we want clarity is try to find the answer.

We search through the mind or outside of ourselves, getting caught in the why, trying to understand and make sense of everything.

Sometimes we find an answer, but continue searching for more evidence, especially when the answer doesn’t match the story we already hold.

So what if, instead of always trying to find it, we felt it, connecting with the body and our intuition before immediately outsourcing the answer.

The mind is powerful for questioning and offering perspective, but it can create more confusion when we expect it to solve our inner experience. Sometimes we try to rationalise what we’re feeling instead of allowing ourselves to actually feel it.

And don’t get me wrong, the body isn’t necessarily flawless either. Trauma, conditioning and other people’s emotional energy can influence what we feel, which is why building a relationship with our body matters.

This isn’t about choosing the body over the mind. It’s about becoming curious about what is happening within us, rather than always searching outside of ourselves for the answer.

Because our inner world influences how we experience our outer world, sometimes we need to feel it. Not to find the “right” story, but to recognise what feels true.

If this resonates and you’d like to explore what your body might be communicating, I’d love to support you in a 1:1 session.

Together, we create space for both the mind and body to be heard, so you can reconnect with yourself.
