It doesn’t have to be about making Halloween “sugar-free”. Instead, a few simple choices can help create a little more balance.

If you’re putting together Halloween treats, try mixing traditional lollies with some alternatives such as:
🎃 Fresh fruit or fruit skewers
🎃 Yoghurt with berries
🎃 Cheese and wholegrain crackers
🎃 Homemade oat or banana bites
🎃 Small portions of chocolate or treats
🎃 Non-food surprises such as stickers, pencils or little Halloween toys

And when choosing confectionery, consider smaller individually wrapped portions and avoid making sticky, chewy or hard lollies the main event, these tend to stay in contact with the teeth for longer. You can also compare similar packaged products using the “Sugars per 100g” section of the Nutrition Information Panel to help you make a more informed choice.

Halloween can still be fun, festive and full of treats, balance is what matters.

Lucy’s tip: Enjoy Halloween treats together rather than grazing on them continuously throughout the day, then get back to your usual nourishing meals and snacks.

Fibre plays an important role in digestive health, helping to support regular bowel movements, nourish the gut microbiome and contribute to overall health. Australian guidelines recommend around 25g of fibre per day for adult women and 30g for adult men.

The good news? Some of the best sources are everyday whole foods:
🌿 Oats and barley
🌿 Beans, lentils and chickpeas
🌿 Wholegrain breads and cereals
🌿 Fruit and vegetables
🌿 Nuts and seeds
🌿 Brown rice and quinoa

Different foods provide different types of fibre, which is why variety is so important. Soluble fibre is found in foods such as oats, legumes, fruit and vegetables, while insoluble fibre is found in wholegrains, fruit and vegetable skins, nuts and seeds.

A simple way to increase your fibre intake is to focus on adding, rather than restricting — add some seeds to breakfast, include legumes in a salad or soup, choose wholegrain options and aim for plenty of colourful plant foods throughout the day.

Small changes can make a big difference to your gut health.

If digestion, bloating or bowel regularity are ongoing concerns, book a consultation with Lucy for individual nutrition and naturopathic support 🥗

Naturopathy has a long history, drawing on traditional approaches to health that have used nutrition, herbs, food and lifestyle practices for generations.
But modern naturopathy is much more than simply choosing something because it is “natural”.

Today, professional naturopathy combines traditional knowledge with a more evidence-informed understanding of nutrition, herbal medicine, lifestyle, safety and individual health needs.

A naturopath considers factors such as:
🌿 Your health history
🌿 Current medications and supplements
🌿 Nutrition and lifestyle
🌿 Appropriate dosage
🌿 Possible herb and medication interactions
🌿 Current research
🌿 Your individual health goals

Many herbs and nutrients traditionally used in naturopathy continue to be studied through modern research, helping practitioners better understand their potential role, appropriate use and limitations.

One of the strengths of naturopathy is its individual approach. Recommendations are not based on a one-size-fits-all model, but on the person sitting in front of the practitioner.

Naturopathy can also be used alongside conventional healthcare where appropriate, with the aim of supporting a broader approach to health and wellbeing.
And importantly, natural does not automatically mean safe or suitable for everyone — which is why working with a qualified naturopath matters.

Naturopathy may have deep roots, but modern naturopathic practice is thoughtful, individualised and continually evolving.
Curious about how naturopathy could fit into your health care? Book a consultation with Lucy to discuss an approach tailored to you.

Maintaining a healthy weight is rarely about one single thing.
Nutrition matters, but so do sleep, stress, hormones, movement, muscle mass, appetite and your overall lifestyle.
With so much recent attention on weight-loss medications, it’s easy to forget that the foundations of long-term health still matter — whether medication is part of someone’s treatment plan or not.

A naturopathic approach looks at the individual rather than relying on a quick-fix formula. That might mean looking at eating patterns, protein and fibre intake, gut health, sleep quality, stress levels and the type of movement that realistically fits into your life.

The goal isn’t extreme restriction or chasing a number on the scales.
It’s about creating habits that support your body, your energy and your health in a way that feels sustainable over time.

Weight-loss medications can be appropriate for some people under medical supervision, but healthy routines still play an important role in maintaining results and supporting overall wellbeing.

If you’d like a more individual approach to nutrition and healthy weight management, book a consultation with Lucy.

Your hormones can affect more than you realise.

Mood. Sleep. Energy. Skin. Your cycle. Even how you feel within yourself.

Hormonal changes can show up in many different ways, particularly during periods of change such as perimenopause.

Naturopathy takes an individual approach to women’s health, looking at nutrition, lifestyle, stress, sleep and other factors that may be influencing how you’re feeling.

You don’t necessarily have to accept feeling “off” as simply part of getting older or being busy. Sometimes your body is asking for a little more support 🌿

Sneezing, itchy eyes, a runny nose and that congested feeling can make Spring a little less enjoyable 🤧

When supporting seasonal allergies, I look beyond the immediate symptoms and consider factors such as immune health, inflammation, nutrition, gut health and your individual triggers. Depending on your needs, naturopathic support may include nutritional, herbal, dietary and lifestyle strategies.

If this Spring seems to bring the same symptoms around every year, it may be worth looking at your health from a broader perspective.

If seasonal allergies are affecting how you feel, book a consultation with Lucy to explore a more individual approach to supporting your health.

Beautiful, healthy looking skin isn’t only about what you put on your skin, what’s happening inside the body matters too.
Nutrition, hydration, gut health, hormones, stress and sleep can all influence how your skin looks and feels.

If you’re experiencing breakouts, dryness, sensitivity or changes in your skin, naturopathy takes a broader look at what may be contributing rather than focusing on the skin alone.

Spring is a wonderful time to reassess your nutrition, increase fresh seasonal foods and give your body a little extra support from the inside out 🌿 Healthy skin often begins with healthy foundations.

If your skin has been trying to tell you something, book a consultation with Lucy to take a closer look at what may be going on beneath the surface.

Spring often motivates us to clean out the house, get outside more and make a fresh start, but it can also be a good time to check in with how you are feeling. Low energy, poor sleep, bloating, changes in mood, skin flare ups or simply not feeling quite yourself can sometimes be signs that your body could use a little extra support.

Rather than waiting until something becomes a bigger issue, Spring is a great opportunity to look at the foundations:
🌿 How are you sleeping?
🌿 Are you eating regularly and nourishingly?
🌿 How are your stress levels?
🌿 Are you moving your body?
🌿 Are you feeling energised or just pushing through?

Sometimes small changes can make a meaningful difference.

Spring isn’t only about refreshing your home, it can be a chance to refresh your health too
