🎓❤️💛🖤 A PROUD MOMENT FOR LIAM, HIS FAMILY AND OUR COMMUNITY!

Today we’re celebrating one of our own! 👏

A huge congratulations to Liam Simon on graduating as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner!

This is so much more than receiving a qualification. It represents hard work, determination, commitment and a willingness to keep learning and growing.

Balancing work, study and everyday life isn’t always easy, but Liam has put in the effort and achieved something he and his family can be incredibly proud of.

At Tobwabba Aboriginal Medical Service, we know how much it means to have Aboriginal people working in Aboriginal health, caring for our mob, understanding our culture and helping our community stay strong and healthy.

Liam is now part of that next generation of Aboriginal health professionals, and that’s something worth celebrating.

For his family, this is a proud moment. For our community, it’s another example of what our people can achieve when they have opportunities, support and the determination to succeed.

Liam, you’ve earned this. Your hard work has paid off, and your journey is a reminder that where you start doesn’t have to define where you finish. ❤️

🎨 HELP DESIGN OUR NEXT TOBWABBA 715 HEALTH CHECK SHIRTS! 🖤💛❤️

We're inviting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from our community to get creative and help design our next Tobwabba 715 Health Check polo shirts!

👕 We're looking for TWO winning designs!

🎨 Children's Shirt: Artists aged 12 years and under.

🎨 Adult Shirt: Artists aged 13 years and over.

❤️ OUR COMMUNITY WILL CHOOSE THE WINNERS!

Once entries close, we'll share the designs on Facebook so our community can vote for their favourites!

The two winning designs will be used to create our new 715 Health Check polo shirts.

Who can enter?

The competition is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists of all ages.

You don't need to be a professional artist. We'd love to see everyone's creativity!

How to enter:

🎨 Create your artwork using our shirt template or your own design.

📧 Email your artwork to [email protected]

✍️ Include the artist's name, age and contact details.

📅 ENTRIES CLOSE THURSDAY 5 NOVEMBER 2026!

We'll contact artists before sharing their artwork for the community vote and discuss permission to use the winning designs before the shirts are made.

Looking after your health is important, and you don't have to be sick to get a check-up!

A 715 Health Check is FREE for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of all ages, from our little ones right through to our Elders. 👶🏽👵🏽

What's involved? 🩺

Our health team will have a yarn with you about how you're feeling, check things like your blood pressure and general health, and help organise any extra tests or support you might need.

It's a great way to pick up health concerns early and help keep you and your family healthy.

✅ FREE at Tobwabba Aboriginal Medical Service

✅ Available for all ages

✅ Recommended every 9 to 12 months

✅ You don't need to be sick to have one!

💙 Tobwabba Elders Group 💙

Our Elders Group is a lovely chance to come together each Tuesday for a yarn, some lunch and good company.

We want this to be a safe and welcoming space where our Elders feel respected, valued and included. It’s a place to stay connected, share ideas, enjoy time together and feel part of community.

For many of our Elders, it’s also an important chance to get out of the house, reduce loneliness and spend time with others in a supportive and caring space.
Whether you have been coming along for years or are thinking about joining for the first time, we would love to see you there.
