Not every crystal needs to be a giant statement piece to be fascinating.

Sometimes the tiniest mineral specimens have the most incredible colours, formations and details — you just have to look a little closer.

Our little collection of micro minerals is a perfect example. Some are only around 3 mm across, but each one is its own miniature piece of natural history.

And yes, I can spend a ridiculous amount of time admiring crystals that are barely bigger than a breadcrumb. 😂

Perfect for collectors, curious minds, or anyone who appreciates the little wonders nature creates. 🤍

October means I have an excuse to talk about opal. 😂✨

Opal is one of October’s birthstones, and probably one of those stones I could happily stare at for far too long.

This little piece is particularly special to me because I carved it myself. 🤍

That’s one of the things I love about opal — you can turn it slightly and suddenly there’s colour you couldn’t see a moment before. This one has the most beautiful little flashes of green and blue hiding inside it.

And considering my family has been in the opal jewellery trade for more than 30 years, I was probably never going to be completely impartial about this one. 😂

So October babies, this month is yours. ✨
