🎙 Speaker | Podcaster | Advocate | Workshop Facilitator | Cancer & Menopause Ambassador| Women’s Health Champion

I help women feel seen, heard, and supported through one of life’s biggest transitions: menopause. With lived experience of medically-induced menopause following a breast cancer diagnosis at 47, I bring real-life insight, empathy, and evidence-based conversations to the forefront of women’s health. As the host the Dear Menopause podcast, I’ve spent 3+ years interviewing global and local experts, sharing lived experience stories, and sparking vital conversations. My background includes over a decade as a personal trainer and studio owner, 10+ years as a speaker and workshop facilitator, and a deep commitment to empowering women with knowledge, confidence, and community. Whether I'm speaking on stage, behind a podcast mic, or facilitating transformative group sessions, I advocate for better awareness, education, and support for women navigating menopause — especially those going through it as a result of cancer.

🎤 Available for speaking engagements, podcast interviews, brand partnerships, and collaborative projects focused on women’s health, menopause, and cancer survivorship.

Hong Kong Part 2. ❤️

Hong Kong capers with my love. 😍 We took 10 days out for eating, reading, swimming, sleeping in, shopping and connecting. So needed. So good. And even though a side quest to Shanghai was derailed by a typhoon, we made the most of all the contradictions that make Hong Kong so much fun.

This is my friend Carly (). She’s as fierce as she looks! 💜

Carly was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2024, and she’s been raising awareness and funds for research ever since. She’s already raised over $13K. And this month, because she loves fashion and refuses to do anything quietly, she’s frocking up every day for Frocktober.

Frocktober raises money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF), Australia’s leading independent funder of ovarian cancer research.

Here’s why it matters. In Australia, fewer than half of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer will survive more than five years. That number hasn’t shifted in decades. Decades. That’s not bad luck. That’s what happens when women’s cancers are under-researched and underfunded.

What every woman should know:

🔸 Nearly 2,000 Australians will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer this year
🔸 40% are under 60
🔸 Your cervical screening test does NOT detect ovarian cancer. There’s currently no effective early detection test
🔸 There are more than 30 subtypes, and each one responds differently to treatment

The most common symptoms:

🔸Persistent bloating or an increase in abdominal size
🔸Feeling full after eating only a little
🔸Pain in your abdomen or lower tummy
🔸Needing to wee more often or more urgently

If any of these are new for you and aren’t going away, please see your GP. And always trust what your body is telling you. If you feel you weren’t heard or something doesn’t sit right after your appointment, seek a second opinion.

And importantly from where I sit, treatment for ovarian cancer often means losing your ovaries, which means menopause overnight. Better research means better outcomes. On every level.

If you can, please donate to Carly’s Frocktober campaign. Every dollar counts.

This isn’t about menopause. It’s about being a mum of sons.

A friend asked me how we raised our sons to be respectful, kind men. And the truth is, we didn’t have a plan. What we had was a lot of conversations. At the dinner table, in the car, when the news was hard to watch. Most of it wasn’t really teaching. It was just being honest with them and expecting honesty back.

I’m not claiming we got it all right, and I don’t have the answers to the bigger societal problem. Women’s safety shouldn’t be something we have to keep fighting for. But I do know that what we model at home matters, and that conversations with our sons can’t stop once they’re grown.

If you’re raising boys or young men and asking yourself these questions, you’re already on the right track. ❤️

World Menopause and Cancer Awareness Day. Here’s what I believe needs to change.

For many women, menopause after cancer isn’t a side note to treatment. It’s caused by it. It can arrive suddenly, hit hard, and come with almost no support.

⭐️ Informed consent at diagnosis. Before treatment starts, women should be told it may bring on menopause, what that could look like, and where to go for help.

⭐️ A proper handover. Care shouldn’t end at “see your GP.” GPs need the guidance and education to pick it up.

⭐️ Shared decision making as the standard. Every woman deserves a real conversation about her options, including HRT, with the reasoning explained. Not every diagnosis is an automatic no. The decision belongs to her, made with full information.

⭐️ Menopause after cancer in health professional training. Women shouldn’t have to educate their own clinicians.

Thank you Menopause And Cancer ✨ Support & Community for all the work you continue to do raising global awareness 🙏

It’s not that hard to share the most up to date, clinically recommended and evidence based information when you’re creating content for social media. Especially when you’ve recently received $8.4M in Government funding to “improve health outcomes for women” and your own CEO claims “Every woman, regardless of where she lives or her background, should be able to access quality health information at every stage of her life…”. I’d be interested to know why this information was posted when it doesn’t meet current guidelines. Following the stunning announcement by AstraZeneca that Zoladex 3.6mg would be pulled from Australia, this morning they have made a U-Turn.

This comes after significant criticism from advocates, patients and a Change.org petition calling for urgent action gathered more than 42,000 signatures.

AstraZeneca has today announced it will supply Zoladex indefinitely to those whose doctors determine there are no other suitable treatments available. A massive win for patients. 👏 👏

🥱 If you’re exhausted, foggy, flat, and you’ve chalked it up to menopause, you might be right. You might also be dealing with sleep apnea but almost nobody is checking you for it.

Doctors are trained to look for loud snoring. Women don’t always present that way. So it gets missed, misdiagnosed, or brushed off as “just menopause”, and you keep white-knuckling through days on broken sleep.

If this sounds familiar, ask your GP for a referral to a sleep study. Don’t wait for them to bring it up first.
