You can’t be a lightworker if you’re not a shadow worker.
Oohhhhh what’s your thoughts?
If you feel called to hold space for others, you must also be willing to meet yourself honestly. Including the parts you’d rather keep hidden.
I believe that you can’t pretend to be anything, someone or something that you’re not, when you’re holding space as a healer for others.
You don’t have to be completely healed to be of service. You do however need to remain willing to look within.
You can’t tell someone else to look within when you’re bypassing and hiding all your own stuff. You can’t tell someone how to move their energy so they feel better if you’re not moving your own. You can’t ask someone to release their pain if you’re not even looking at yours.
The need to be needed. The desire to be seen as wise, gifted or spiritually evolved. The urge to rescue someone because sitting with their pain brings you too close to your own. The jealousy. The judgement. There’s plenty of those types out there.
These parts deserve and need our attention. Left unchecked, they influence how we guide, teach and care for others.
Shadow work asks us to get curious about our reactions. To notice when an old wound is speaking. To recognise when we’ve caused harm, take responsibility and make amends. Sometimes it means seeking support ourselves.
For me, healing is a responsibility. The deeper we know ourselves, the more consciously we can hold space for someone else.
Our light carries integrity when we’re willing to meet our shadow.
Keen to hear your thoughts.
