A day of puppets, prehistoric giants, and BIG wins! π©΅ The crew headed into Brisbane to explore "Make, Believe, Magic" at QAG & GOMA and the Queensland Museum Kurilpa working on their goals the whole way! Swipe to see how they smashed it! π
First goal of the day: getting there! π The boys travelled into Brisbane on public transport with support workers, Josh and Lewis. They practised planning the trip, staying safe on the move and managing a busy, noisy environment with their headphones on π§ Every trip like this builds confidence for travelling more independently π
The excitement was REAL π Meeting Big Bird and Mr. Snuffleupagus was a huge moment, and Caine and Oscar showed big joy! ππ
Fine motor skills, unlocked π Threading pipe cleaners, gluing on fluff, and placing googly eyes takes serious focus and steady hands π
Lewis didn't just watch, he got stuck in 𧦠Sitting with the boys and making his own puppet made it easy to encourage them and model each step. That kind of teamwork is how real trust and rapport are built π€
Bright lights and colourful caves π With headphones on and their support workers close by, the boys explored this sensory-rich space at their own pace π§ Using their sensory strategies out in the world is a massive step π―
Exploring the workshop that sits above the caves πΆπ§ Oscar's face says it all! π€© Moments of pure joy like this remind us why getting out into the community matters so much: it's meant to be FUN too!
From puppets to pythons π Over at Queensland Museum, the boys opened drawers to discover snakes and learn about them up close. Curiosity and handling a new space with calm confidence: we love to see it π
And the grand finale 𦴠Oscar was BEAMING next to this Diprotodon, a giant ancient relative of the wombat! That smile says confidence π Days like this are all about building independence, connection and pride, one adventure at a time. Proud of you, boys! π
