Most of the testosterone hacks guys chase barely move the needle. Boron, cold plunges and ditching synthetic un**es might nudge your levels a little, but a small bump on a low baseline rarely changes how you feel. A lot of the heat advice is really about s***m anyway, and s***m production and testosterone production are two different things.

If you want the biggest lever, get lean. Training and solid sleep support that. Expect changes over months, not days. And if you feel better before your numbers move much, that’s probably because you’ve cleaned up the inputs, and that counts.

If you’ve got real symptoms like low libido, fatigue or flat mood, get your bloods done. Some guys need more than lifestyle changes, and that’s worth knowing early.

Send this to a mate who loves the novel protocols but barely trains and drinks every week 😉

Adrenal fatigue is a cool concept. The trouble is, when researchers actually measure it, it doesn’t hold up.

The idea is that years of stress wear your adrenal glands out, like a car battery run flat by too many short trips. It’s a tidy story, and I can understand why it caught on.

In 2016, two endocrinologists pulled together 58 studies that compared cortisol in tired and non-tired people. Most found no difference. The ones that did split both ways, some lower and some higher. Their conclusion was that the case for adrenal fatigue as a medical condition hasn’t been made.

Real adrenal failure does exist. It’s called Addison’s disease, and it’s rare. In Western countries up to 90% of cases are autoimmune, where the immune system attacks the adrenal glands. Stress isn’t one of its recognised causes. Doctors diagnose it with blood tests.

Hormone output runs on feedback. Outside of genuine adrenal disease like Addison’s, low cortisol usually reflects the signal from the brain, not a worn-out gland.

If you’re exhausted, take that seriously. Start by seeing a good health practitioner and be honest with them about how you’re sleeping and how you’re feeling.

If better evidence turns up, I’ll happily change my mind. For now, this is where it sits.

Almost summer in Australia, which means festival season.

I’m not here to condone or endorse anything. But there’s a piece of M**A pharmacology that almost nobody talks about, and it changes how you’d think about redosing.

Quick version: M**A disables the main enzyme that clears it. Your body has to build new enzyme, and that takes days to weeks. So a second dose- later that night, the next day, even next weekend, builds up more than you’d expect.

Three things that aren’t in the video:
💧 Don’t drink too much water. M**A makes your body hold onto fluid, and overhydrating causes dangerously low sodium. People have died from this. Sip, don’t chug.

💊 If you’re on antidepressants, this is a serious interaction. Talk to your GP or pharmacist. Never stop prescribed medication on your own.

📞 If someone’s unwell, call 000. Paramedics are there to help, not to get anyone in trouble. Say what’s been taken- it changes how they treat.

The safest option is not using. If you want to talk to someone who does this properly:

‘I’ve been doing keto for weeks and I feel worse, not better.’

I hear this all the time. And usually, they were never actually doing keto.

Here’s the thing. Your body prefers glucose. As long as there’s enough sugar around, it’ll burn that first and leave your fat stores untouched.

Your body hates making ketones, so unless you send the message that glucose is unlikely to arrive any time soon, it’ll wait for the next hit rather than fire up the ketone production machinery.

That feeling of being tired, hangry, weak and dizzy?

That’s your body desperately waiting for glucose.

The clarity and steady energy on the other side of that? You don’t get there if you keep reintroducing glucose. You stay in limbo.

So if you eat low-carb all day but top up with something carbohydrate rich at night, you never make the switch to burning fat. You just carry the hunger of a carb-burner without ever getting the steady energy of a fat-burner.

Not enough carbs to feel fuelled. Not low enough to tap into your fat. The worst of both worlds. Tired all day, wired at night, hungry the whole time.

If you’re going to do it, commit properly. The halfway house gives you the downside of both.

Save this for the next time someone tells you keto made them feel worse.

Two things make a diet great. Neither is complicated.

One: eat more micronutrient-dense whole foods. Nuts, seeds, berries, veg, quality meat.

Two: cut back hard on the pro-inflammatory ultra-processed stuff.

Most people who walk into my clinic tired, foggy, flat, dealing with a flaky scalp, only want to do the first one. Add the good stuff, ignore the rest. It feels productive.

Here’s the catch. You can eat all the berries and greens in the world, but if you’re still putting away a tub of ice cream or a stack of pastries every day, the symptoms that brought you in probably aren’t going anywhere.

Not all tiredness is the same.

Both kinds of tiredness involve a buildup of adenosine throughout the day, but the kind of tiredness resulting from poor sleep also brings with it a dysregulation of several hormones and neurotransmitters, and it’s this dysregulation that leads to the ‘hungry ghost’ feeling, that predisposes you to the kind of impulsivity that leads to another poor sleep.

All hail ODOUROUS FLATUS.

If your farts are abundant and smell like rotten eggs, it’s often the result of excess protein making its way to parts of the digestive tract that it normally wouldn’t. Once it’s there, it gets putrefied by the microbes that live there. Unless you provide their preferred substrate- fermentable fibre.

Two fixes- best deployed concurrently. Reduce protein intake to a sensible volume, and increase fibre intake (gradually).

Fermentation of fibres like resistant starch still produce gas, particularly if you introduce too much too fast. But it is far less ODOUROUS 🏛️

**Firstly, if you’re on a prescribed SSRI, do not cease taking it. SSRIs do help some people, but not simply by ‘elevating’ serotonin. It’s what happens downstream of reuptake inhibition over weeks that bring about the benefits**

The idea that supplementing with a precursor to raise serotonin will lead to elevated mood is one of the most persistent oversimplifications in consumer neuroscience.

No neurotransmitter works alone. Each is held in check by the others.

The post-lunch dip is a circadian phenomenon, not a pathology.

Core body temperature and subjective alertness both fall in a predictable trough roughly seven to nine hours after waking, independent of what you ate. It was present in adolescence too but it was simply masked by higher baseline arousal.

Low-stimulation, sedentary tasks remove that masking, which is why the same physiology becomes conspicuous in your thirties.

Bright light exposure, movement, or a really short nap address it more reliably than additional caffeine.
