Next week at Matrescence Gold Coast, Monday 19 to Sunday 25 October.

Centre tours: Mon 19 at 10am, Wed 21 at 5pm, Fri 23 at 10am, and Sat 24 at 9am and 4pm. A relaxed 45-minute walk through the birth suites with time for your questions. No cost, no obligation, partners welcome. Bookings are essential.

Mum and Baby Circle: Fri 23 October, 9:30 to 11:30am, Level 3, Suite 303. For mums and babies aged 0 to 12 months.

Also in the centre next week: Her Held Space, Dr Oscar Serrallach's GP clinic, Aeternum Medical, Coastal Osteopathy and Sarah Forman.

Meet our midwives. 🌿

At Matrescence Birthing Centre Gold Coast, your care is led by an experienced endorsed midwife: known to you, chosen by you, and with you from pregnancy to six weeks after birth. Not rostered, not shift to shift.

Midwifery-led doesn't mean on your own. Our midwives work in collaboration with doctors who are holistic and supportive of natural birth, and we have a supportive transfer relationship with Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) if more care is needed. An evidence-based, balanced approach, in a licensed private hospital birth centre.

What actually is a birth centre?

A birth centre is a licensed facility designed for natural, physiological birth, with care led by midwives. Doctors and clinical governance are in place, in a space that feels calm and nothing like a ward.

At MBC Gold Coast that means private suites with deep birth pools, soft lighting and room to move, and your own endorsed midwife from pregnancy to six weeks after birth. Every woman is co-admitted under a credentialed doctor, with reviews at 29 and 36 weeks.

What makes us different: we're Queensland's only licensed private, midwifery-led birth centre. Your midwife is chosen by you and never rostered, and lactation support, pelvic floor physiotherapy and postpartum planning are all part of your care.

We care for healthy, low-risk pregnancies. The best way to see if it's right for you is to come on a tour of the centre and meet the team. It costs nothing to visit. Bookings are essential, link in bio.

What's on next week at Matrescence, 27 September to 3 October.

Our Mum and Baby Circle starts on Friday 2 October, 9:30 to 11:30am, and runs fortnightly from there. It is for mums and babies up to 12 months, held on Level 3, Suite 303, with tea and coffee on us. The booking form is on our website.

On Saturday 3 October, Birth Essentials runs 9:30am to 12:30pm. A one off three hour class for couples planning a pregnancy or in the first 12 weeks, $95 per couple and included with the Nurture Care and Integrative Care packages. A tour of the centre follows the class.

Tours run twice next week, Wednesday 30 September at 5pm and Saturday 3 October at 12:30pm.

Also in the building: Her Held Space on Tuesday, Dr Oscar Serrallach and Aeternum Medical on Wednesday, Coastal Osteopathy, Sarah Forman and Abby Goodwin on Thursday, and The Pregnancy Collective on Friday. They work from our rooms, and their bookings go direct to them.

A morning at the Mum and Baby Circle, in pictures.

Mums and babies on the floor together. Some feeding, some sleeping, some fussing, all welcome. No stage, no program to keep up with, just a circle of women in the same season.

Come as you are and bring your baby. You do not need to have birthed with us.

Birth does not follow a clock.

It can build, soften, pause and change. Sometimes those changes are exactly what mum and baby need as they work through birth together.

We do not expect every woman to labour in the same way, or for every birth to follow the same pattern. Our role is not to control birth. It is to create the conditions where your body and your baby can do what they instinctively know how to do.

And while we protect that space, your midwife is watching, listening and assessing throughout, recognising what is normal for you and your baby, and recognising when something is changing.

Knowing when to wait is just as important as knowing when to act.

Once a month, this room fills up.

Burps, cuddles, questions and a lot of laughter. The Mum and Baby Circle is a morning to sit down, feed, talk it through and ask anything, with other mums who get it.

Come as you are and bring your baby. You do not need to have birthed with us.

Everyone is new at this. You are not doing it alone.
