The Ella Centre Disability day programs, weekend group programs & individual support | Aged care

For over 50 years we’ve supported adults living with disability and mature members of our community to stay connected to the people and places they love, close to home.

Steptember has come to an end and we’re so grateful to have surpassed our fundraising goal.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated and supported us throughout the month.

This year we took on STEPTEMBER in honour of our much-loved Lucy. We finished the month with a High School Musical party at Ella - one of Lucy’s favourites. Lucy also loved listening to ABBA, so one of our support workers, Patricio, put together his own beautiful renditions of some of her favourite songs to play on the day.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this Steptember such a special one 💙

Happy National Week of Deaf People!

Inspired by Deaf Children Australia - we loved their video and had fun creating our own version 💙

Emma loves heading down the road to Happyfield ™️ to buy her coffee - a regular favourite when she’s at Ella.

We’re lucky to have so many great spots just a short walk from the centre, giving our participants plenty of opportunities to get out in the local community.

Weekends with YASS

A little look into what our weekend program gets up to. Laser tag, animal encounters, museums, air shows, exhibitions, paint & sip and plenty more.

There’s always something different on the calendar, with plenty of opportunities to try something new, get out in the community and spend time with friends.

At The Ella Centre, we believe everyone deserves to feel a sense of belonging, connection and purpose.

We’re more than a place to access support — we’re a community. A place where friendships grow, confidence builds and people are encouraged to be themselves and live life their way.

Every day, we create opportunities for the people we support to connect, learn, laugh, try new things and thrive.

This is who we are. This is what we stand for 💙

Finding the right day program for our daughter was one of the most important decisions we’ve made as a family. Ella Centre in Haberfield has exceeded every expectation, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Our 24-year-old daughter Celine has blossomed since joining. She wakes up excited every single day she goes there — and the joy on her face says everything words never could.

The setting itself is something special. Ella Centre is housed in a beautiful old church hall that lends the space a warmth and character you simply don’t find in a typical facility. It feels welcoming the moment you walk in — and it is immaculately maintained. The cleanliness and care taken with the environment reflects the same pride and attention that the staff bring to everything they do.

What makes Ella Centre truly special is the intimacy of the environment. Being a smaller centre means the staff know each person deeply — their personality, their passions, their needs. The care here isn’t just professional; it’s personal. Our daughter isn’t just attending a program, she’s part of a community where she is seen, known, and celebrated.

The activities and outings are wonderful — Zumba is a firm favourite in our household! — and there’s always something engaging and fun on the calendar. It’s clear that a lot of thought goes into keeping participants active, stimulated, and connected.

But above all, it’s the staff who make Ella Centre what it is. They are warm, dedicated, and genuinely passionate about the people in their care. The difference they make is immeasurable.

Our daughter is happy, engaged, and thriving. For any family searching for a place where their loved one will be embraced wholeheartedly — look no further than Ella Centre.

Hi, I’m Jem and I’ve been working here at the Ella Centre as a casual support worker for a year and a half.

I enjoy working here because I get to make a positive difference in people’s lives. Every day brings something different, which keeps the job interesting and gives me the chance to build meaningful relationships with the people I support.

I also appreciate being part of such a friendly and supportive team that is always willing to help each other. It’s an environment where I feel valued, encouraged to grow, and proud of the work we all do together.
