Paralysed with love A 20-something year old girl navigating life with chronic illness.

22/10/2026

✨outside✨ refreshed my soul today!!!

21/10/2026

Some days, chronic illness feels like it’s breaking you down piece by piece. 💔 The exhaustion, the setbacks, the uncertainty, the grief for the things that feel so far out of reach. Sometimes, just getting through the day feels like climbing a mountain with no summit in sight.
And if that’s where you are right now, I need you to hear this. 🫶🏼
This moment is not your forever.
You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to be positive every second. You don’t have to find a lesson in your pain or turn every struggle into something inspiring.
Sometimes, getting through means crying, resting, asking for help, or simply taking one more breath.
But even when it feels like you’re falling apart, you are still here. And one day, this moment that feels impossible will be a moment you’ve made it through. Maybe life won’t look exactly how you imagined, but there is still joy to find, love to feel, and good moments waiting for you. 🤍
So, if today is one of those days when chronic illness feels like it’s winning, please be gentle with yourself. You don’t need to conquer your whole life today. Just take it one moment at a time.
✨ Save this post for the hard days, and send it to someone who needs a little reminder that they’re not alone.
Life is tough, but so are we.

Chronic illness can turn your life upside down so slowly that you don’t even trust it’s happening. 🤍

It happens little by little. You adapt, you push through, you convince yourself it’s just a bad week, a flare, a rough patch. You learn to live with things you probably shouldn’t have to live with, and somewhere along the way, you lose sight of just how unwell you’ve become.

Ten days ago, I came into hospital. But the truth is, I’d had at least a month of friends and family telling me I needed to do something about my health. People who love me, who could see what was happening, even when I couldn’t fully see it myself.

And now, I’m here for the foreseeable future.

I keep thinking about how much I wish I’d asked for help sooner. How much time I spent questioning whether I was “sick enough” to need help, whether things were really that bad, whether I was just being dramatic.

Chronic illness has a cruel way of making you question your own reality. When your normal slowly becomes someone else’s version of unwell, it can be incredibly hard to recognise how much you’re struggling.

I can’t change the fact that I didn’t reach out sooner, but I can share this in the hope that someone else might.

Please trust your body. Please listen when the people who love you are worried about you. Sometimes, the people around us can see the changes we’ve slowly adapted to and can no longer recognise in ourselves.

You don’t have to reach breaking point to deserve help. You don’t have to prove you’re unwell enough. You don’t have to wait until things become an emergency to take yourself seriously.

If something doesn’t feel right, you are allowed to ask for help. You are allowed to advocate for yourself. And you are allowed to take up space in a healthcare system before things get worse.

Please don’t wait until you’re lying in a hospital bed wishing you’d done it sooner.

You deserve care now, not just when things become impossible to ignore. 🤍

✨ Whatever you pause on is what you’re manifesting ✨

A little reminder that even when life looks different to what you imagined, there is still so much beauty, hope and magic to be found along the way. 🤍

Living with chronic illness can make it hard to see beyond the next appointment, the next flare, or the next hurdle. But you are still allowed to dream, to grow, to rest, to change your mind, and to believe that good things can find you, even in the middle of the hard stuff. 🫶🏼

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to be positive every day. And you certainly don’t have to earn your rest or prove how much you’re struggling for it to count.

Take what you need from these reminders, leave behind what you don’t, and trust that you’re allowed to build a life that looks different from the one you once pictured. 🌷

💌 Now tell me… what did you pause on? Drop your reminder in the comments below. Let’s fill this little corner of the internet with the words someone else might need to hear today. 🥹🤍

A little reminder for anyone whose brain likes to convince them that everything is falling apart. 🥹🤍

Living with chronic illness means there are so many moments where you genuinely don’t know how you’re going to get through the next hour, let alone the next day. The hospital admissions, the setbacks, the uncertainty, the plans that fall through, and the days where your own body feels like the one thing you can’t rely on.

And yet, somehow, here you are. 🫶🏼

You’ve made it through days you never thought you’d survive. You’ve navigated things you never imagined you’d have to face. You’ve adapted, advocated for yourself, picked yourself back up (sometimes literally 😂) and kept going in ways that people will never fully understand.

Does that mean you have to be strong every second of every day? Absolutely not. You’re allowed to be scared, to cry, to have a little meltdown and to not have all the answers. Being capable doesn’t mean you never struggle. It means you’ve found a way through, even when it’s been messy, exhausting and nothing like you planned.

So the next time your brain starts telling you that you can’t do this, take a breath and remember all the times you thought you couldn’t before. You don’t have to figure out your entire future today. Just take the next step, whatever that looks like for you. 🤍

💌 Save this post for the days when you need a little reminder of just how far you’ve come. And tell me in the comments: what’s something you’ve made it through that you once thought you couldn’t? Let’s remind each other how much strength we carry, even on the days we don’t feel strong. 🥹👇🏼

Chronic illness makes adulting feel like playing life on hard mode… 🥹🤍

The world keeps moving, even when your body is begging you to stop. Bills still need paying, messages still need answering, responsibilities keep piling up, and somehow you’re expected to keep up when you’re using every last bit of energy just to get through the day.

Sometimes, surviving the day IS the achievement. Sometimes, getting out of bed isn’t an option. Sometimes, resting feels like falling behind, even when it’s exactly what your body needs.

And one of the hardest parts of chronic illness is learning to accept that you can’t always keep up with the pace of the world — and that doesn’t make you lazy, unproductive or any less worthy. 🤍

You’re allowed to slow down. You’re allowed to change the plan. You’re allowed to have days where all you do is survive. Your worth has never been measured by how much you can get done, and you don’t have to earn your rest.

If you’re reading this while feeling overwhelmed by everything life is asking of you, let this be your reminder that you’re doing the best you can with the body, energy and circumstances you have today. Please give yourself some of the compassion you so freely give to others. 🫶🏼

💌 Save this post for the days when you feel like you’re falling behind. And if you can relate, leave a 🤍 in the comments so we can remind each other that none of us has to navigate this alone.

Talking about your chronic illness or mental health online isn’t “attention seeking.” It’s awareness, connection and sometimes simply a way of reminding someone else that they’re not alone. 🫶🏼

Honestly, I think we should be more concerned about the people who feel like they can’t talk about their health or mental health. Silence can be incredibly isolating, and keeping everything bottled up can be dangerous.

So let’s stop shaming people for speaking openly about what they’re going through. You never know who might need to hear that they’re not alone. 💛

What do you think? Do you agree, or do you see it differently? I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts. 👇🏼
