If you’ve been waiting to see if a GP ADHD assessment rather than a specialist ADHD assessment might be right for you, the rules have changed in Tasmania and we have started the new pathway. Request a first appointment to discuss this option with our Tasmanian accredited ADHD GP.

This pathway is also available if you need a review before continuing your medication at the 2-3 year mark or if you have had an assessment by a psychologist and now you would like to see if medication might help.

GP-led ADHD telehealth care is available now in Tasmania, with specialist shared care arranged when clinically needed. Our new expanded pathway launched in July — you’re welcome to request a first video appointment now to start planning your pathway.

From the 1/12/25 the options will broaden in QLD and GPs with an interest in ADHD will be trusted to diagnose and prescribe for adults as well as children when appropriate.

From December 1, specialist general practitioners will have the ability to diagnose adults with ADHD and prescribe medication, in an Australian first.
