Hawthorn Harvest Time
I'm about to start harvesting our hawthorn flowers and leaves, ready to carefully dry them here on the farm.
Hawthorn (Crataegus) has been treasured for centuries in traditional Western herbal medicine, particularly for its association with heart and circulatory health, calming nervous tension and emotional wellbeing.
Both the flowers and leaves have a long history of use in traditional herbal preparations.
One of my favourite things about Alpine Apothecary is being able to harvest and prepare botanicals straight from the land around us here in the Snowy Mountains.
From plant to apothecary, just as nature intended.

I'm out and about this weekend!
The farm shop is open Saturday from 10am to 2pm, and on Sunday I'll be at the Jindabyne Markets.
I'll have handmade soaps, candles, skincare, herbal teas and more.
Saturday — 276 Woolshed Lane, Hill Top.
Sunday — Jindabyne Markets, Bowling Club car park. Weather permitting

A little update from Alpine Apothecary
Thank you so much for your patience while I catch up on your orders.
I've been away from the workshop for a little longer than expected, and I'm now working through everything as quickly as I can.
As everything is handmade here in the Snowy Mountains, some products, particularly our shower steamers and bath bombs, need several days to dry and cure properly before they're ready to package.
I'm back in the workshop and getting production underway, and I'll be working hard to get your orders out to you.
