Raising Boys Is NOT for the Weak. 😂🖤
Nobody could have prepared me for the absolute chaos that comes with raising boys.
I swear I spend half my life asking questions I never thought would come out of my mouth.
"Why are you doing that?"
"What is that smell?"
"Have you showered today?"
"Why are your shoes in the middle of my floor?"
"How are you hungry AGAIN?!"
"Did you seriously eat ALL of that?"
And my personal favorite…
"HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU EVEN MANAGE TO DO THAT?!" 🤦🏻♀️
These boys can hear a bag of chips open from the other end of the house, but somehow can't hear me hollering their names from five feet away.
They can remember every hunting trip, fishing story, basketball score, and random fact that has absolutely no importance to everyday life.
But remembering to take the trash out?
Apparently, that's where their memory stops working. 😂
And can somebody PLEASE explain how two boys can go through $300 worth of groceries in three days and still stand in front of a refrigerator full of food saying…
"Mama, we ain't got nothing to eat."
SIR. WE HAVE AN ENTIRE GROCERY STORE IN THIS HOUSE. 😭
Their rooms smell questionable.
Their laundry never ends.
Their shoes are everywhere.
And apparently, putting an empty box back in the pantry counts as cleaning up after yourself.
But here's the thing about raising boys…
Just when you're about to lose your ever-loving mind, one of them will randomly walk up and hug you.
Or tell you they love you.
Or come sit beside you and start telling you about their day.
And for a few minutes, you forget about the muddy floors, the grocery bill, the mountain of laundry, and the fact that you've asked somebody to do the same chore SIX TIMES.
Because underneath all that teenage attitude, endless appetite, and questionable decision-making are two boys who still need their mama.
Maybe not the same way they did when they were little.
But they still do.
And as much as I miss those little boys who followed me everywhere, I absolutely love watching the young men they're becoming.
Even if they're eating us out of house and home in the process. 😂
Being a boy mom is basically spending your entire motherhood somewhere between "WHAT IS WRONG WITH Y'ALL?!" and "Lord, thank You for choosing me to be their mama."
It's loud. It's messy. It's expensive. It's exhausting.
And I wouldn't trade a single bit of it.
Well… maybe the grocery bill.
I'd definitely trade the grocery bill. 😂🖤
*yes the photo is AI edited but they are my beautiful boys
