I recently attended the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine here in Sydney on Cognitive Decline . The take home was
- exercise , a lot more than you think you do
- sleep more than 6 hours but less than 10
- learn a language , an instrument or just read a lot
- avoid blue light , see sunrises and sunsets
- microbiome health
- seek groups , company and sharing it keeps that Oxytocin bonding hormone flowing
- supplements such as Curcurmin , Resveratrol and the Omegas have their place
- plenty of evidence supporting Non Invasive Brain stimulation , we really can regrow nerves , the brain and set up new networks to make up for those lost or compromised .

Age related change may or may not provoke pain , but when coupled with factors like sustained postural load , protracted stress, inflammation and injury it is much more likely to give symptoms .

The burden of chronic pain I see in my clinic has pushed me to study the neuroscience of chronic pain , but simply explaining was not helpful enough .
That it why I have pursued bettering my skills in clinical neuromodulation using tDCS , neurovascular needling as well as of course my trusty hands .

The figures are even higher than thought , due to under reporting .
