Last week St Joseph’s Nursing Home had a visit from members of the Lismore Craft & Quilters Inc. and were blessed with the donation of seven handmade quilts for our residents.
Janet Wallace and Irene Willoughby from Lismore Craft & Quilters explained the group had made these quilts with calico and flannelette with quilting fabric in the shape of hearts sewn on, and they used a technique known as ‘ragging’ on the seams.
These quilts are stunning, and it’s clear every stitch was sewn with kindness and care. The members of Lismore Craft & Quilters have wrapped our community in love and warmth. Thank you from the residents and staff at St Joseph's!

Recently our elderly residents lit up with joy as they received treats and heartfelt letters filled with kind words from the Food Technology students at Trinity Catholic College Lismore .
A special thanks to those students, who make a massive difference to our day when they share their compassion and kindness!

A beautiful gift today courtesy of master craftsman John Dowling, who created these amazing games boards as a donation to our Mary's Grange nursing home community.

John is quite an artisan and used his unique skills to fashion a Backgammon and Chess boards, as well as the mini chest to hold the chess pieces.

These games are all for the use of our Mary's Grange residents, and we can't thank John enough!

Pictured are (L-R): Peter Harding, EEN Team Leader-Gail Brown, Mr John Dowling, Leanne Burnett.

Recently we said a sad, but happy farewell to one of our long-serving St Joseph's nursing staff, Glennis McErlean, who has been with us for 49 years!!!
It was a pleasure for some of Glennis' closest colleagues to put on morning tea to celebrate her retirement. Our staff and residents will miss you Glennis, and wish you all the best.. It's time to relax! 😀

That was a great craic! At St Joseph's this week there were shamrocks and shenanigans as we celebrated St Patrick’s Day. Residents and staff got into the theme dressing up and having fun. Don't worry, everybody was behaving themselves! ☘️☘️☘️
