Consistency. And the quiet pride that comes with it.
One of the things I feel most proud of as a yoga teacher isn't how far someone can stretch, how long they can hold a pose for or whether they can do fancy things with their body.
It's actually the students who keep showing up.
The ones who make the time in their week to step onto their mat. The ones who come even when they're tired, when life is busy, or when their bodies aren't quite doing what they'd like them to do.
The ones who have made their practice a part of their lives, not because they have to, but because somewhere along the way they've recognised the value in it!
As a teacher, it's a privilege to witness this kind of consistency. Not just the changes in their physical practice, but the familiarity they develop with their own bodies, the growing awareness of their breath, and the understanding that every practice doesn't have to look or feel the same.
And i get it. Some days will feel good. Others don’t. Some weeks we'll feel strong and capable, and others we'll need to soften, modify and meet ourselves where we are.
It’s all yoga.
So for those of you who keep showing up, week after week, I hope you know how much I appreciate it. You might not always notice the changes taking place, and they might not be the kind of changes you can photograph or measure.
But consistency has a way of working quietly in the background.
And I think that's something worth celebrating.
Not perfection or achievement.
Just the willingness to keep showing up for yourself.
And as your teacher, I'm pretty proud of you all for that.
