👏 Today is World Occupational Therapy Day, and the 2026 theme is Participation Matters.
Occupational therapists help people participate in the everyday activities, roles and routines that matter to them, including work.
From injury prevention and recovery to workplace adjustments, rehabilitation and return to work, occupational therapy plays an important role in supporting neuromusculoskeletal health and helping workers manage work related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs).
By considering how a person moves, works and functions within their environment, occupational therapists can help identify barriers, modify tasks and workspaces, support independence and enable people to participate in work as safely and meaningfully as possible.
Following National WorkSpace Week, today is a great opportunity to recognise the professionals who contribute to the prevention and management of WMSDs and help workers stay at work, return to work and participate well at work.
👏 To occupational therapists everywhere, thank you for the important role you play in supporting healthier, safer and more inclusive workplaces.
