October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🧡🎗
1 in 8 Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer by age 85. That's around 55 people every day, and men can get it too.
There's hope in the numbers as well. Five-year survival in Australia is now 93%, up from 75% in the late 1980s, thanks to early detection, better treatment and ongoing research.
This month, we're thinking of everyone who has been affected, those going through treatment, survivors, and the families and friends who support them. đź’›
A few ways to get involved:
• Know what's normal for your body and see your GP if anything changes.
• Book your free BreastScreen mammogram if you're 50–74 (or eligible from 40).
• Check in on someone you know who's going through it.
• Support a breast cancer charity.
If you or someone you love is going through treatment or recovery, our Exercise Physiologists are here to help you rebuild strength and confidence.
