The Duck Mafia finally released Talitha… and the horses are relieved.

Talitha — our neuroaffirming, trauma‑understanding Social Worker of 25+ years — is back after being briefly kidnapped by Gin the Goose and the duck crew.

At Equine Reflections, we support private and NDIS clients of all ages, especially those who are neurodiverse, have experienced trauma, are school‑can’t, or thrive in non‑judgemental, nature‑based therapy with horses and animals.

Talitha now has weekday availability before the ducks regroup.

Ducks in the mud… and a reminder about self‑care

Grandma, Red, Gromit, Pancake, Daisy, Donald, Socks, Flipper, Hot Chocolate — and Gin the Goose — have absolutely no hesitation about diving straight into the mud. They splash, they play, they reset.
That’s self‑care in its simplest form.

At Equine Reflections, our horses, ducks, and nature‑based practices offer the same gentle invitation: healing doesn’t have to feel like therapy. It can feel like connection, movement, curiosity, fresh air… and sometimes a little mud.

We’re person‑centred, trauma‑aware, and very different from room‑based therapy. Sessions feel natural and grounding, yet the outcomes are genuinely therapeutic.
We see private clients of all ages, and we’re especially passionate about supporting people who are neurodiverse or have experienced trauma, while welcoming anyone seeking connection, confidence, regulation or emotional healing.

Our practitioners are Registered Counsellors and Social Workers, so we can support NDIS self‑managed and plan‑managed participants under allied‑health therapeutic supports.
Both male and female therapists are available.

Sometimes healing looks like horses.
Sometimes it looks like ducks in the mud.
Sometimes it looks like choosing yourself. We also run social groups, holiday programs, parent support groups and many others!
We practice at Highfield Equestrian Centre who offer also fantastic Therapeutic riding delivered by a qualified Counsellor and also general horse riding and horsemanship training.

Have you ever experienced the joy of being around horses and how horses can help humans?

Some days the animals remind us how simple it is — do what you love, be who you are, and don’t overthink the mud. Horses feel that truth in us and respond when we show up real and grounded.
We now have some capacity for new clients with extra times opened from the waitlist, plus a few sought‑after Sunday sessions now available — contact us now to secure a spotHere’s a clean 10‑hashtag set including Melbourne and NDIS, all in one list and all starting with Guided Links:

Strong girl who is a fighter!

Stella the therapy horse - the heart and souls of Equine Reflections, my personal horse and key support for my clients unfortunately suffered what could have been another fatal bout of colic however due to the team Highfield Equestrian Centre quick action then the amazing team at Avenal Equine hospital Stella's life was saved for a second time in 5 months!

Colic can be a fatal condition unless caught early and in Stella's case these episodes have required surgery as her colon was twisted. We have since learnt she has a high risk of reoccurrence due to the size of her bowels in comparison to her tummy size.

she had just started enjoying being back in work the next 3-4 months will be a long road
to recovery. For those that know and love Stella pls send love and strength as she embarks on her recovery
