Are you someone who responds well to touch and massage? Then this little self-care reset is for you.

Meridian tracing and massage is a gentle, relaxing technique traditionally used to encourage the flow of qi (energy) through the body’s meridian pathways.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, each of the 12 main meridians has a natural direction of flow. Tracing in this direction is traditionally associated with tonification (strengthening), while tracing in the opposite direction is associated with sedation (calming).

✨ So, how can you use this at home?

Try gently tracing or massaging along a meridian and notice how your body responds. Pay attention to areas that feel tender, sensitive or tense, using these sensations as an opportunity to slow down and tune in.

I always encourage intuitive touch with my clients, whether that means using the whole hand, the fingertips or a single finger. It’s about finding what feels soothing and supportive for your body.

And one of the things I love about kinesiology? I can also explore which approach may be most supportive for a client using muscle monitoring during a session. How cool is that!

You can explore this technique along different meridian pathways throughout the body, so why not give it a try? Take a few slow breaths, soften your touch and see what you notice. 🤎

As always, keep your touch gentle and comfortable, and avoid pressing into areas that are painful or irritated.

Save this little reset for the next time you need a moment to reconnect with your body.

How I use Australian Bush Flower Essences in a Kinesiology Session

Australian Bush Flower Essences are one of the tools I may incorporate into a kinesiology session to support the emotional and energetic aspects of your wellbeing. During a session, we may uncover emotional patterns, stress responses, beliefs or experiences that your body is holding onto. Using muscle monitoring, we can work with your body to identify which flower essence may be most supportive for you at that particular time.

🌸 The process might look like this:

1. We identify what’s coming up
We explore what your body is responding to — whether that’s stress, overwhelm, emotional patterns, transitions or something you’re currently moving through.

2. Your body guides the session
Through muscle monitoring we can ask your body which areas need attention and whether a flower essence is appropriate.

3. We select the essence
The Australian Bush Flower Essences each have their own energetic qualities and are traditionally used to support different emotional states and patterns.

4. We discuss the psychology of the essence
Each essence also carries it’s own psychology, so first we discuss the relevance to your session, and why it may have come up to support you.

4. We incorporate it into your session
The essence may be used as part of the kinesiology balancing process, depending on what your body indicates. I generally offer drops orally during specific parts of the session.

5. You may take an essence home
Sometimes I’ll create a personalised flower essence blend for you to continue working with between sessions.

I love working with flower essences because they offer another gentle layer of support alongside kinesiology, particularly when we’re working with the emotional side of wellbeing.

They aren’t about “fixing” you. Rather, they’re a beautiful way of supporting you as you reconnect with yourself, your body and what you need.

Why might you come to see a Kinesiologist?

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come in.

Sometimes you simply feel like something is “off” — you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in a pattern, disconnected from yourself, or unsure of what you need.

Kinesiology offers a space to slow down, listen to your body and explore what may be sitting beneath the surface. It's holistic, gentle and individual.

You might come for support with stress, mental health, physical pain, spirituality, emotional wellbeing, limiting beliefs, life transitions, feeling stuck, or simply because you’re ready to understand yourself a little more deeply.

Every session is different, because every person is different.

It’s about creating space to reconnect with your body, your intuition and your own inner wisdom, that is the key. What you need to heal is inside of you already, sometimes we just need the right guidance to help us get there.

Spring Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere 🌙
10.05am AEST - Exact Equilibrium

A moment of balance.

A turning point between the quiet darkness of winter and the awakening light of spring. As nature begins to bloom and stretch towards the light, we can gently allow ourselves to do the same. This is a time to create intentional space for what we wish to grow, and tend to the areas of our lives calling for more balance.

Happy Spring Equinox ✨

Spring is a season of emergence. 🌱

After the stillness and inwardness of winter, we begin to see life stirring again — buds opening, new growth appearing, and the days slowly filling with more light.

There’s something beautiful about allowing ourselves to move with that rhythm too.

These reflection prompts are an invitation to pause, turn inward and get curious about what might be emerging within you as we move into Spring.

It’s been a little while since I’ve shared a journal entry, but this one feels perfectly timed with the season we’re moving into. 🪵

As spring begins to unfold around us, I’ve been reflecting on the energy of Wood in Traditional Chinese Medicine — an element connected to growth, movement, creativity, direction and new beginnings.

Spring invites us to emerge from the stillness of winter, to begin moving again and to notice what within us is ready to grow.

In this journal, I explore the Wood Element, its connection to the Liver and Gallbladder, and how these themes can show up within our physical and emotional wellbeing.

I also share a little about how kinesiology can help us explore the cues and messages of the body — creating an opportunity to pause, listen and become more aware of what our body might be asking for.

There’s often a perception that wintering means stopping completely. For me, it looked a little different.

It was about slowing down enough to listen to what I needed — and allowing myself to be nourished in simple, meaningful ways.

This winter, I…

1. embraced slow mornings
2. stretched my body with my 3-year-old son each morning
3. ate congee for breakfast to nourish my spleen and digestive energy
4. read old favourites and discovered new books
5. taught myself how to read coffee cups
6. took a basket weaving class
7. made more space for play and connection with my family
8. escaped the cold for a week
9. cared for myself with acupuncture treatments
10. deepened my tarot practice
11. moved through a weekly yin yoga class
12. spent time in nature to replenish my energy

Some of these things were deeply restorative.
Some sparked curiosity.
Some brought joy.
Some simply brought me back into my body and into the present moment.

And I think that’s what I’m learning about wintering…

It doesn’t always mean retreating from life.
Sometimes it means changing the way we move through it.

Listening a little more closely.
Doing a little less of what drains us.
Making space for what nourishes us.

Just as nature moves through seasons, so do we.

And perhaps the invitation isn’t to resist those seasons, but to honour them. 🤎

What might your own season be asking of you right now?

I’ve been wintering. 🍂

These past few months have been a quieter season for me. A time to slow down, turn inward, listen a little more closely, and simply be.

It felt important to honour that.

Motherhood, too, has taught me so much about the ebb and flow of life — that there are seasons for doing, seasons for being, seasons of outward growth and seasons that ask us to rest.

So much of what I share through my work is about listening to the body, respecting its rhythms and recognising when we’re being called to pause, restore and replenish.

This season, I’ve been practising that for myself.

And now, I can feel something shifting.

A gentle stirring.
A little more energy.
A feeling that it’s time to emerge again. 🌱

I’m feeling ready to reconnect with this space, return to my work and begin welcoming clients again.

Thank you for being here, even while I’ve been quiet. 🤎

I’m looking forward to sharing what has been unfolding, and to holding space for you again.

Natural State is gently emerging from its winter, too.
