In my clinic and teaching studio, I love nothing more than seeing my students and patients thrive.

There’s a real sense of joy and shared achievement in watching someone find their voice again, or seeing a student finally nail the song they’ve been working on for weeks.

Through listening, coaching, feedback and genuine support, my goal is to help each person build confidence, feel empowered and enjoy their voice.

Ultimately, I aim to create the possibility for every student and patient to thrive and become the best version of themselves.

As a singer, I understand all too well the heartache of losing your voice.

When your voice is an important part of who you are, a voice disorder can mean so much more than difficulty speaking or singing — it can prevent you from participating in performances, work, education, social activities and the things you love.

I empathise with my clients and students when their voice limits their ability to participate. As a speech pathologist specialising in voice, my role is not simply to help people find their voice, but to help them find a way back to the activities, relationships and experiences that give their lives meaning.

Voice therapy can create the possibility to participate — to return to the stage, sing, communicate with confidence, connect with others and engage fully in the activities that matter most.

If you are experiencing difficulties with your voice, connect with us via DM or through our website (link in bio).

Voice is deeply personal, and having a voice that feels authentic is crucial.

You don't need to leave the studio with a "perfect" voice, but a voice that allows you to express your needs, wants and desires.

Voice therapy provides clients with the opportunity to explore, understand and develop their voice in ways that align with their individual needs, identity and goals.

For some, this may mean finding a stronger or healthier voice; for others, it may mean exploring gender-affirming voice, building confidence, communicating more effectively, or discovering greater freedom in self-expression. Rather than telling someone what their voice should sound like, voice therapy creates possibility and choice—empowering each person to decide how they want to sound, communicate and be heard.

When people have choice in their voice, they can have greater confidence to participate, connect, belong and express who they truly are.

As a singing teacher and voice therapist, I gain a sense of joy and pride when I see patients and students gaining confidence and a sense of belonging as their speaking or singing voice improves.

An example is working with people from the transgender community and supporting them through their voice changes during transition.

Helping clients develop an authentic voice that reflects their identity can build confidence, enable self-expression, and foster a stronger sense of belonging and connection within their community.

I frequently see patients achieve greater vocal endurance, more efficient breath, voice coordination, increased vocal range, improved resonance and vocal quality.

This grows communication, whether they're speaking one-to-one, in a classroom, at home, at work, presenting or performing.

Voice therapy can help patients develop a voice that is adaptable and resilient across different environments and demands.

Speech/voice pathologists help voice users through:

Awareness → Understanding → Skill → Confidence → Expression → Independence and Growth.

Anything is possible!

As a voice therapist I assist teachers to use their voices in a more efficient way so they can communicate with their students. This includes healthy voice production, breath management, resonance, vocal projection and efficient speaking techniques which all create the possibility to learn and this be able to perform their very crucial role of teaching.

Workshops are available both in person and online. Visit our website to learn more or DM us with your enquiry.

Communication Creates the Possibility to Connect

I had a 99-year-old man come to see me for a voice assessment. He was feeling sad and isolated because he could no longer communicate his needs, his wants, or the love and care he felt for his family due to ongoing and worsening voice loss.

He knew his time was limited, and more than anything, he wanted to be able to speak with his family again.

After just a few weeks of voice therapy, he returned to see me . He had tears in his eyes and he took my hand and said:

“Thank you for giving me back my voice. I can now connect with my family again and tell them how much I love them. It’s a gift I took for granted but I’m never going to take for granted now.”

Three months later, he passed away.

His words have stayed with me ever since. They reminded me that our voice is so much more than the ability to speak. It is how we express our needs, share our thoughts, show our love and, most importantly, connect with the people who matter most to us.

As a Voice and Speech Pathologist, I feel incredibly privileged to help people find their voice again—and with it, rediscover their possibility to connect.

This week (23-29 August) we're celebrating Speech Pathology Week - a time for us to reflect on what speech pathologist see every day in practice.

This year's theme is "Communication creates possibility". When communication and swallowing needs are supported, people have more opportunities to connect, learn, make choices, participate and thrive.

Each day this week, we'll be posting anecdotes and tips from our practice. At In Good Voice, we aim to turn possibility into opportunity through valuable communication.

Follow along for an insight into the world of speech pathology and stay tuned for special announcements throughout the week.
