A day built around connection, community and belonging.
Around 70 people came together at Altona Beach for AQA’s annual Community BBQ — including community members, families, volunteers, mentors, staff and guests from the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre and Caulfield Hospital.
Accessibility was considered from the beginning, with beach wheelchairs and support available so more people could enjoy the shoreline and be part of the day.
There was food, laughter, conversation and plenty of time to simply connect.
“At its heart, the day was about people. And above all else, it was about belonging.”
