I am so excited to share āMagic in The Weavingā with you. A story about a stimming caterpillar named Scout šāØ who feels the urge to spin and weave. I had the idea six years ago (2020), when I wrote a random reflection in my notes app (Iāll share it below). I wrote the actual story three years later (2023). I originally planned to release Magic in The Weaving in February of this year (2026) but I grossly underestimated how much havoc pregnancy would wreak on my body. However, now that my little Bug is here (and already 4 months old, somehow?!) it has felt like this is exactly how it was supposed to happen. After all, I made this book because I felt its absence when I imagined reading bed time stories to the child I longed to have.

Notes app entry (01/2026): Entomologists reckon caterpillars donāt know they are going to become butterflies, and I love that because, firstly, what on earth goes through their minds when theyāre building their cocoons? Do they look at their little insect pals judging them and shrug in response, like, āI dunno man, Iām just as confused as you areā? Much like me navigating life; unsure of where Iām going to end up, but trusting my mind and body when they tell me to build something.
