A look back at ANZBA 2026!

We had such a great time connecting with clinicians from across Australia and New Zealand and showcasing how Smileyscope can support patients during burn procedures.

It was especially great to give clinicians the opportunity to experience Smileyscope firsthand, as well as catch up with teams already using Smileyscope in their departments.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand to chat, learn more and share their experiences with us!

Supporting Childhood Cancer Awareness Month đź’›

We’re proud to work alongside hospitals across Australia, the US, UK and Ireland to help make procedures a little less frightening for children undergoing cancer treatment.

We often think of Molly, who at just nine years old experienced such severe needle fear that walking through the doors of the cancer centre could feel impossible. With the right support, she was able to face repeated procedures, continue her treatment and ultimately celebrate remission. ✨

Through partnerships with organisations like , we’re also helping more children access Smileyscope, including those receiving care closer to home in regional communities.

To the children, families and incredible clinical teams we work alongside — we’re honoured to support you. 💛

22/09/2026

We’re excited to be joining the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) this Thursday, 24 September, for a webinar exploring how immersive technology can support children during procedural care. 💙

Lenore Fleming, CCLS, will share practical experience from her clinical work, including the use of immersive technology during painful and repeated burns dressing changes and debridement procedures.

Together, we’ll explore how these tools can support procedural coping, reduce distress, and complement the important role of Child Life Specialists.

🌎 ACLP members can register through ACLP and receive PDU credits where applicable.

We love hearing how Smileyscope is making a difference in everyday paediatric care. đź’™

At Portiuncula University Hospital, Smileyscope has become one of the most used pieces of equipment on the ward, helping children feel calmer, more confident and more in control during procedures.

Thank you to Ann Marie Furlong for sharing such wonderful feedback.

Last week was CAN GIVE DAY đź’™

We were so excited to see Smileyscope included in this year’s CAN GIVE DAY, helping raise funds to bring more Smileyscope headsets to Canberra Hospital.

Canberra Daily shared the story of Archer, who was given a Smileyscope headset for distraction while waiting for surgery after breaking his arm. His mum’s verdict? “He loved it.” ✨

This year’s wish list included $30,000 for Smileyscope headsets, helping more kids like Archer feel distracted and comforted during frightening or painful procedures.

A huge thank you to Canberra Hospitals Foundation and everyone who got behind CAN GIVE DAY!
