Introducing our Qi Renewal Soup 黃金蔘補湯🍲

There’s something special about having a warm bowl of nourishing soup when the weather turns cold and gloomy.

This herbal soup contains ginseng rootlet and a selection of carefully chosen traditional herbs.

Every herb is handpicked by Dr Kaylin (TCM), with some ingredients also personally prepared before being blended and packed into a convenient cooking pouch.

Why make it this way?
Because traditional herbal soups can take 2-3 hours to prepare. We wanted to make the goodness of traditional herbal ingredients more accessible, without spending hours in the kitchen.

Simply add water, simmer, and let the ingredients do their thing. Enjoy it on its own or add your favourite vegetables and protein for a more complete meal.

Healthy, delicious and wonderfully fuss-free.

Making health an effortless choice. 🌿

Available at our Blackburn clinic and on our website!

**An Important Update from Dr Kaylin**

Dear clients,

I will be taking extended leave from 4th – 25th of November 2026, and my online bookings at Blackburn will be temporarily closed during this time. My return to Alice Springs will also be postponed until early February 2027.

The past few months have been particularly challenging, and after much consideration, I have made the difficult decision to undergo surgery.

Following medical advice, I will need at least two weeks of rest. Depending on my recovery, I may gradually resume seeing a very limited number of acupuncture clients during the third week. However, I won't be able to offer cupping until I have regained sufficient strength.

While I hope to return as soon as possible, I also recognise the importance of allowing myself time to recover properly.

🌿 Your Care During My Absence
I want to reassure you that your ongoing care remains important to me, and our wonderful team will continue to look after you.

Dr Sam – Acupuncture & Remedial Massage
An experienced and gentle practitioner who will be looking after you. He is available on

• Thursdays: 9:30 AM – 5 PM

🌿 Appointments & Enquiries
Appointments with our team remain available online or by calling 03 7023 9953.

For enquiries regarding appointments following my return, please email [email protected].

A Personal Thank You ❤️
As practitioners, we spend much of our time caring for others, and sometimes we need to take a little time to care for ourselves too. This has not been an easy decision, but I know it is necessary for my health and recovery.

Thank you sincerely for your patience, kindness and continued support, particularly during these past few months. It truly means a great deal to me.

I look forward to returning when I am well enough and continuing to care for you.

With warmest regards,
Kaylin (Sen Health Clinic)

What if one of the things we overlook in endometriosis and adenomyosis is the person behind the pain?

We talk about the pain. The heavy bleeding, fatigue, bloating, hormones, diet, supplements, medication and surgery.

But I want to start a conversation about something much less talked about — the emotional story that may sit alongside the physical pain.

Over the years in my clinic, I have noticed that many women with endometriosis or adenomyosis carry a much deeper story.

I want to be clear: I am not saying emotional trauma causes these conditions, and this may not be everyone's experience. But sometimes the story goes back much further.
Family breakdowns.
Being stuck in the middle.
Growing up with criticism instead of encouragement.
Volatile relationships.
Feeling rejected, unheard, or never quite good enough.
Over time, these experiences can shape how we see ourselves, intimacy, relationships, marriage, motherhood and whether we feel worthy of being accepted and loved.

In Chinese Medicine, endometriosis and adenomyosis can be considered within the broader historical framework of Zheng Jia (癥瘕) — descriptions of accumulated masses, including more fixed and more changeable presentations. And I find the idea of accumulation deeply meaningful. Because alongside the physical pain, I sometimes wonder about the things a woman has accumulated over the years:
The hurt that was never expressed.
The fear that was never spoken.
The anger that had nowhere to go.
The grief that was never processed.
The longing to be accepted.

I am not saying emotional pain creates a physical mass.
But perhaps we need to become more curious about what has accumulated in a person's life, and what we may have overlooked.

Chinese Medicine's core principle, to me, is not simply treating the symptom. It is looking at the person as a whole — their history, their patterns, their physical body and their lived experience. This is why, in my clinic, treatment is not always just about reducing period pain or premenstrual moodiness.

Sometimes acupuncture becomes a space where I listen to stories that have never really been heard.
Stories about family. Relationships. Loss. Fear. Rejection.
And sometimes, the courage to stand back up again, to want to be loved and to feel safe, becomes part of the healing journey.
Otherwise, why would anyone put up with my bitter herbs and acupuncture needles? 😂

I can only start small, but I hope every woman who comes to Sen Health Clinic knows this can be a place where I don't judge or criticise your life choices.
A place where you feel safe.
A place where you are heard.
A place where your physical pain is taken seriously, while there is also room for the emotional experiences sitting alongside it.
Because sometimes, what has been overlooked may be worth looking at.

I say this not from a pedestal as a practitioner, but from one woman living with endometriosis and adenomyosis to another. 🤍

What have you been carrying?

Kaylin

Pain is often the final chapter, not the whole story.

When someone comes to us with pain, we don't just focus on where it hurts. We take the time to understand the journey that led there.

Sometimes pain begins with a single injury.

Other times, it develops gradually through changes in posture, movement patterns, daily habits, stress, or repeated strain over time.

Understanding the timeline of your symptoms helps our practitioners look at the bigger picture and create a treatment approach that is personalised to you.

We believe different therapies can complement each other when they are thoughtfully combined.

Depending on your needs, your care may involve:
💆 Acupuncture + Remedial Massage with Dr Sam
🪡 Acupuncture + Chiropractic care with Dr Kaylin & Dr Jiawin

By combining different areas of expertise, our practitioners work together to support your individual health goals.

Your symptoms are unique. Your treatment should be too.

Meet Dr Sam (TCM) 👋

Dr Sam believes effective treatment starts with understanding the person—not just the pain.

By combining acupuncture and remedial massage, he tailors each treatment to suit your individual presentation and goals. Some patients may benefit from acupuncture alone, while others may benefit from a combination of therapies.

Whether you're dealing with persistent neck pain, lower back pain, headaches, sports injuries or everyday muscle tension, Dr Sam takes the time to assess what's contributing to your symptoms before creating a personalised treatment plan.

At Sen Health Clinic, our focus is helping you move better, feel better and get back to doing the things you enjoy.

Why choose between acupuncture and remedial massage when they can work together?

Many people think they're alternatives—but they actually complement each other.
Remedial massage focuses on releasing tight muscles, improving movement and reducing soft tissue tension.

Acupuncture works differently by helping regulate pain, calming the nervous system and supporting the body's natural healing response. Depending on your condition, combining both treatments may help address not only where the pain is, but also why it's persists.

This approach may be beneficial for:
• Neck and shoulder pain
• Lower back pain
• Headaches
• Sports injuries
• Muscle tightness
• Chronic pain
• Postural tension

Every treatment is tailored to your individual needs—because no two bodies are the same.

Sometimes the body gives subtle signs that the nervous system may be under stress.

This can show up as ongoing fatigue, frequent headaches, anxious feelings, disrupted sleep, muscle tension, or feeling emotionally overwhelmed.

When the nervous system stays in a heightened stress response for long periods, it may also affect circulation, hormonal balance, digestion, and overall wellbeing.

At Sen Health, our practitioners take a personalised and integrative approach to care. Therapies such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, and manual treatments may help support relaxation, improve circulation, and encourage better balance within the body over time.

Supporting your health is not just about managing symptoms — it’s about understanding how different systems in the body work together.

If you’ve been feeling a little “off,” it may be time to listen to what your body is communicating.

The nervous system and hormonal health are closely connected.

Ongoing stress, poor sleep, and emotional overwhelm may affect how the body regulates hormones over time — sometimes showing up as fatigue, mood changes, tension, disrupted sleep, or menstrual irregularities.

At Sen Health, our practitioners take a personalised approach to support nervous system balance, circulation, and overall wellbeing through therapies such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, and manual treatments.

When the body is supported as a whole, it may function more smoothly and feel more balanced over time.

Reflexology is a gentle therapy that works through specific pressure points to support relaxation, circulation, and overall balance.

By engaging the nervous system, it may help the body shift out of a stress response and into a more relaxed state — supporting better sleep, reduced tension, and a greater sense of wellbeing over time. This approach considers how different systems in the body are connected.

At Sen Health, reflexology may be integrated with therapies such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, and manual techniques — working together to support both physical comfort and internal balance in a personalised way.

If you’ve been feeling tense, fatigued, or not quite yourself, it may be helpful to explore a more tailored approach to your care.
