Last month, we took our medico-legal workshops to Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Hereโ€™s some of what members took away from the weekend:

- Privacy and AI: consent and accuracy when using AI scribes.
- When the regulator calls: keeping perspective and involving MIPS early.
- Dental practice: understanding the limits of your scope of practice.
- Recent cases: professional boundaries, patient privacy and consent.

Brisbane attendees also took part in High Value Conversations, an award-winning communication skills workshop delivered by Mater Education.

A big thank you to our presenters, Dr Owen Bradfield, Dr Gerard Clausen, Zoe Cornwell, Heather Nieuwenhoven, and Daniel Davison, for sharing their expertise with our members.

๐Ÿ“ Next up: Hobart on Sunday 8 November, and a dental-focused workshop in Melbourne on Saturday 14 November. Registrations open soon.

Supervising a colleague or trainee? Thereโ€™s more to consider than clinical oversight.

Clinical supervision comes with its own medico-legal considerations. Our September webinar, now available on demand, explores the key responsibilities and practical considerations for supervising in medicine and dentistry.

Our CMO, Dr Owen Bradfield was joined by Simon Morgan from General Practice Supervision Australia to explore:

- Legal and vicarious liability for a supervisee's conduct
- Remote supervision risks and documentation obligations
- Mandatory reporting thresholds for impairment and intoxication
- Conflicts of interest and boundaries
- Performance management versus bullying

Whether you supervise in a hospital, private practice or remotely, the session offers practical guidance to help you navigate the medico-legal considerations that come with the role.
