Excellent!
WHERE ARE YOU LIVING: THE PAST, THE PRESENT, OR THE FUTURE?
One of the greatest sources of suffering is not always what happens in our lives, but where our minds choose to live.
When we live in the past, we carry guilt, regret, and sadness. We replay conversations, question our decisions, and wish things had happened differently. But no amount of overthinking can change yesterday.
The past is a lesson to learn from, not a place to live.
When we live in the future, we become trapped in fear, anxiety, and endless “what if” scenarios. We worry about things that may never happen and allow imagined problems to steal the peace available to us today.
Prepare for tomorrow, but do not sacrifice today worrying about it.
When we learn to live in the present, we begin to experience greater clarity, acceptance, gratitude, and inner peace. We notice life's simple blessings and focus on what we can actually change.
Living in the present does not mean forgetting the past or ignoring the future. It means learning from yesterday, preparing wisely for tomorrow, and being fully aware of today.
Buddhist wisdom reminds us that thoughts and feelings come and go. We do not have to believe every thought, follow every fear, or carry every memory. We can observe our minds, return to our breath, and choose how we respond.
Whenever your mind wanders, gently ask yourself: Is this something I can change now, or am I suffering over something beyond my control?
Yesterday is a lesson. Tomorrow is uncertain. Today is your opportunity.
Your life is happening now. Do not let yesterday's regrets or tomorrow's fears steal the moments you still have.
Where is your mind spending most of its time—in the past, the future, or the present?
