Down’s Community Farm Down's Community Farm on Old Wells Rd, Seaford. Situated on traditional lands of the Bunurong people.

Adjacent to the beautiful wetlands, it's a former farm, now a thriving community project with nourishing activities and sustainable values. Down’s Community Farm (formerly known as and still run by Down’s Estate Community Project) is a flourishing community hub bordering the scenic wetlands on Old Wells Rd, Seaford. "Down's Estate" is the former farm, previously owned by world-renowned whip and saddle-maker Harry Down. The land is now owned by Frankston City Council and jointly managed. The project is co-created by passionate, hardworking and dedicated community members. Together we work to sustain shared goals and values, working with sustainable farming practices, hosting culturally significant community events and share our knowledge and culture. The land facilitates a large community garden and wide-open grass space for nourishing activities such as yoga and community festivals, with incredible views overlooking the native wetlands. This community-based public space is inclusive and welcoming of all aspects of all people. If you want to get involved or share your ideas, please join us. You can like and follow our page, visit our website or Instagram, and visit us at Down’s Community Farm. Help us to keep this amazing project exciting and connected.

Please come to Beauty Park tomorrow to help us celebrate FEFN's 30th anniversary!

The Frankston Environmental Friends Network continue to celebrate 30 years of caring and advocacy for the environment with a stall at the Beauty Park Market this Saturday, 24th October. Living with Wildlife will have a free propagating activity there. Learn a little about propagation of local native plants, propagate something to take home for your garden or a pot because local plants are suited to local conditions and best support wildlife and biodiversity. You will also have the opportunity to chat with representatives of the groups and learn about opportunities to make a real difference in your neighborhood.

This lovely sulphur-crested cockatoo was seen sitting, possibly nesting in the old tree stag at the Farm. We see many different kinds of birds overhead at DCF and around the garden area. Come and join us for the Aussie Bird Count this Saturday at 1pm, after Gardening Bee and shared lunch at midday.
