Head to the end of this caption for my huge (personal) news! 👇

It's been a long while! I haven't done a post on Instagram or Facebook for, I'm not sure how many months...

Social media just got too much, but I'm planning my comeback!

I absolutely love sharing content that is *super* valuable to peeps with ADHD, and getting the word out about the services that I provide.

My ADHD coaching and courses are very unique because of my decades-long nursing career and my passion for ensuring people have excellent info about ADHD - and related health issues after my own long struggle with WAY WORSE cognition than ever, pain, headaches, gut issues, etc., but I am doing *so* much better!

I love sharing what's worked for me, but also what experts who are at the forefront of all the things are sharing as well. 🤩

My SERIOUSLY huge news is that, after a very, very, very long time solo, I am in love! Pinching myself every day that I've met such a beautiful human and that we make each other so happy. 😍

I'd love to know how you're doin and you'll see more of me in the not-too-distant future. x

Getting this quiz ready to share with the world is a HUGE milestone for me...
It's been a year since I first decided to do this, and it took a lot of blood, sweat and tears (due to my own ADHD + hormones + Long covid...)
Soooo, I hope it's SUPER helpful!!
I pride myself on sharing super helpful info - please let me know if it hits the spot! (Or not!!)

Best of Nutrimind 2025: #2 🍓👇

First posted February 6th, it’s our 2nd most viewed reel this year with 530k views!

One of my very best friends (.curiosities ) teamed up with me to share about the research on the genetic basis of ADHD. Let me just say… I’m so grateful for him (and his partner ) for the time and care they’ve shown me. See you in person next year?? 👀

OG caption from the infographic: ⬇️

Can childhood trauma cause ADHD? 🤔

We’ve both gotten lots of questions on this topic, so .curiosities and I teamed up to bring you the real research!

Even though ADHDers are more likely to have childhood trauma, twin studies show that childhood trauma is NOT associated with ADHD diagnosis [PMID:29775871], but it IS associated with ADHD severity [PMID:27376862].

I.e: ADHD isn’t caused by bad parenting, hypersensitivity to the environment, etc. It’s mainly caused by our genetic makeup, and the environment influences our experience of those gene variations (though yes, certain events like a head trauma can cause it).

Dr. Gabor Mate is a fantastic trauma specialist, but he is not an expert on ADHD. His theory that we don’t have a single gene that unifies every single ADHDer is short-sighted and doesn’t provide context. For example, T1D, a chronic disease universally known to not be caused by a person’s behaviors (i.e. genetic) does not have a gene variation that every T1D person has.

In the same way, there are multiple gene variations associated with ADHD, but not every person with ADHD has them.
