Same w**e. Different hangover. 🍷
Anyone else noticed that the two glasses of w**e you could comfortably drink in your 20s suddenly hit VERY differently in your late 30s?
You’re not imagining it.
As we age, changes in body composition, sleep, medications and hormones can influence how alcohol affects us.
But here’s what I REALLY want women to know.
🍷 That bottle of w**e? It could contain almost 8 standard drinks. Not 4. Not 5. EIGHT.
🔥 Alcohol contains almost as much energy per gram as fat. And those extra kilojoules can add up quickly when you’re trying to manage your weight.
😴 That nightcap isn’t doing your sleep any favours. Alcohol might help you fall asleep faster, but it can disrupt REM sleep and leave you waking up exhausted.
🎗️ Alcohol increases breast cancer risk. Even relatively low levels of consumption are associated with increased risk. It’s a known carcinogen linked to at least seven cancers.
And here’s the thing…
You don’t have to be a heavy drinker for alcohol to affect your health.
I’m not here to tell you to stop drinking. I enjoy a glass of w**e myself.
But I AM here to help you understand what’s happening inside your body so you can make informed decisions.
Because not everything that changes after 35 is just your hormones.
Sometimes it’s the habits we’ve carried through from our 20s that deserve another look.
Here’s my challenge: Track your alcohol intake, sleep and energy for 7 days. Then reduce your drinking for the following 7 days.
See what you notice. No guilt. Just data.
💬 Tell me: Have you noticed your alcohol tolerance changing as you’ve got older?
📌 SAVE this for the weekend.
💌 SEND it to the girlfriend who says, “I just can’t drink like I used to!”
And if you’re navigating changes in your hormones, energy or body composition, I’m building something for you.
